How do we deal with the New Knights?

mule: Yeah, 5+ to ignore MW, 1 CP, duration one phase. Underwhelming to protect against 2-3 Smites, but will save you some damage when spores come flying in I guess. Isn't it only for MW in the psychic phase? I don't have the IK rules down yet.

It's the Psychic phase only for it, Questor Mechanicus stratagem.

That's not the issue. Distance is the issue. You have to deploy 12" from the infantry screen. The Knights can deploy 12" behind that. So basically it's a 162 point one-trick-pony that will only work if you're going first and if you get 2 out of 6 possible deployments or if your opponent doesn't have a screen or know how to use it AND doesn't know what meiotic spores do. That's a lot of ifs. Right, everyone just sits at the very back and never ever goes for objectives, nor are any of the knights melee... Or you just sour things because you think they might not work therefore it's never going to.

mattblowers clandestinecadenceThe stratagem is useable in any phase. Questor Mechanicus only, but at least for competitive play you should be running House Raven anyways, so it is available. The House Hawkshroud specific relic (Angel's Grace) is limited to the psychic phase, 4+ instead of 5+ to ignore though.

Codex right in front of me and I didn't think to check it, thanks for the clarification!
I really like Hawkshroud.

Hawkshroud, Raven and Taranis are the 3 competitive ones I see. Ill do a breakdown on why if anyone cares to know or if anyone objects.

mattblowers Double tapping HG can take a Knight down about half, IIRC. A flyrant can take another 2 from smite, then another 1? From Devs. How are you 1 rounding Knights with just Flyrants and HG? Edit: harpies are good IMO. They're not staple but they should be, if only they were in Fast Attack.

mule 12W from HG, 6W from Smites/Scream, 1W from Devs, and 5W from 8A MRC looks feasible. Not likely, but feasible. Thanks for your clarification.

In honesty I forgot because I'd been playing 0 Flyrant lists for awhile now. The slip of the mind is my own fault ¬_¬

mule: House Taranis? Rofl... just no. Hawkshroud is good for sure, but cannot compete with Raven + Landstrider WL trait. The amount of board control you can excert with Knights that fast is insane. Helps you to get LoS on units behind cover, and super reliable melee (which is crucial, Knight shooting alone isn't going to cut it).

For the most part most lists only have 1 chance to kill a knight, if you stand it back up to shoot everything and then charge and kill the unit that just killed it, its very good. Taranis also lets you use the fight twice stratagem. It is of the top 3. Im not denying that raven isnt the best but i believe you can make a list with taranis and 2 guard battalions for CP dumping.
