What is the culture like at your lgs?

Yeah from what I heard it was loaded dice at the local tournament. Can't believe people care about winning that much. I think my opponent was just New to the codex and the dynasties. Mostly flayed ones and praetorians in a mephrit list lol.

I get accused of having loaded dice and I cannot tell if it's a joke or not. Needing 3+ to wound and getting 6 out of 8 wounds is loaded dice, but having to make 15 Invuln saves on Genestealers and making only 3 is normal. If I'm cheating I have the worst dice ever! Also loaded dice are probably the easiest ways to get caught, depending on the list building you'd probably have more luck giving yourself some extra points and go "oops I math'd wrong" if you get caught. But yeah, cheating is silly.

Learning ones codex is an important strategy that most players overlook.

Back in the days when we had no 8th ed codexes, I found that having both Xenos indexes was really good when playing against other people, because it meant I could have a decent idea of how each army would work. Plus it meant I had a deterrent against anyone trying to cheat because I had access to the same rules. Now we have codexes for a lot of the main factions, its always good to remember some of the more common rules and units for the main factions. If it gets you into playing another faction, even better.

And on a side note, recently I played a game where I was fielding a unit of 20 genestealers. They had Catalyst on them, and by some miracle 18 of them managed to survive a round of melee with: A BA Dreadnought, 2 Gemini, St.Celestine, and some Terminators. The amount of 5s and 6s rolled was just incredible, no weighted dice needed. Had to reassure my opponent my dice weren't loaded!
