Also for question 4. According to the designer commentary of the faq. Rerolls and modifiers are before weapon abilities.

They give overcharged plasma as an example. The result must become one or count as one(less then one) for it to take the damage.

So in your case he has a plus one so he can never take the damage because he can never end up with 1. I f he has a plus one bonus and no negatives.

No, it very definitely says hit roll. And it's checked after modifiers, so a 2 with a -1 would trigger overheats.

And tank commanders (and Pask), which are probably about the only way to run russes (either for the +1 BS or for the rerolls of 1). Especially when you could be taking manticores instead .

Also vets, scions and command squads (both scion and normal) for special weapons in bulk at BS3+.

For anti-infantry I'm looking at the Vulture Gunship. Heavy 40 S5 with +1 to hit non-fliers, it blows Wyverns out of the water for points efficiency.

One financial compensation you get with HWT is that you can re-sell the weapon options you don't want on ebay, should be able to recoup half the box price that way (especially if you're selling back the lascannons).

Cash price of acolytes is a major PITA. Definitely looking at Deathwatch Overkill acos (cheap on ebay) and converting with e.g. Meganob killsaws.
