Hi all,
As the RP board has been suffering from a seriously detrimental lack of Role Plays and the like in the past few weeks I went back past page 1 *gasp* looking for stuff that cwe could all have a go at....
I'm assuming some of you will remember the Arena of Death? I know i do and it was a whole lot of fun so sign up your character and we can get this party started!
NB: these rules are just copied and pasted from the original, i took the liberty of editing it to make it look nicer and easier to understand.
Joining:
If you wish to participate in the Arena of Death please post a character in this thread by the 1/1/08, the games will begin on that date.
Character Creation:
Combatants must be an HQ character from any army (no assassins, venerable dreadnoughts, or greater daemons). The character must be legal within its army list restrictions and requirements and may not be worth more than 150 pts. You may only have a single model; command squads, retinues, wolves, thralls, etc. are not allowed. No vehicles or mounts are allowed. This includes Space Marine Bikes, jump packs, Juggernauts of Khorne, etc. Minor psychic powers are allowed. No special characters will be allowed, the only exception being the Emperor’s Champion (who must be taken as is – no additional wargear). Other than these restrictions, you are free to choose as you like. (There will be other restrictions to certain armies)
Pictures
Arena of Death combatants are encouraged to provide a picture of a painted model that represents your combatant. Try to make it as close to WYSIWYG as possible.
Starting the Fight
Two models enter; one model leaves. Both models set up 6" apart. There is no cover or terrain! The Arena is featureless and empty and goes on into infinity!
Shooting & Charging
A D6 is rolled and added to the initiative of the mini, who ever scores the highest gets to charge. Both parties will get to shoot first and who shoots first is determined in the same manner. After that combat is as normal (by Initiative). In the event of a tie (mutual simultaneous death), the victory will go to the one who has scored the highest number of wounds, including overkill.
Special Rules
The Hand of God: In the Arena of Death; I AM GOD. I roll the dice and I post the results. This ensures the impartiality of the fight.
Splitting Attacks: Models in the Arena of Death that are armed with more than one weapon for Close Combat may choose to make a certain number of their attacks with particular weapons. by default all of your attacks will be made with your most powerful weapon unless you state otherwise.
Disclaimer:
I will be responsible for rolling any and all dice associated with this arena, as a normal human being i cannot predict the vageries of fate and hence anything that happens in the arena is entirely dictated by luck. To maintain impartiality i will not be entering the arena myself (no matter how tempting the opportunity to use my new shas'o in this).
OOC: if anyone has a problem or wants me to place restrictions on other units PM me please.
