Ah nice mate getting the cryptek version!! I got the standard codex and tomb awakened box set, pick up Friday.
Aye, I had a £100 digital voucher on my GW account from Xmas, I needed the Necron collector's edition to go with the 6E collectors for my DA, Tau, Eldar & Tyranids! No more overly expensive books for a while now...until HH book five...

That's not what the rule is saying, sorry dude.
What it's saying is you can take a Necron Decurion Detachment instead of a CAD/Mephrit Detachment.
So say you take a Decurion Detachment that is made up of a Reclamation Legion, a Judicator Battalion and a Royal Court. A unit that is a part of the Reclamation Legion Formation is a part of that Formation & still a part of a Necron Decurion Detachment.
It is NOT a part of a Combined Arms Detachment. None of them are. You could take a CAD alongside it but the units wouldn't be shared between.
However you can still take these Formations as simply that, Formations, in which case they can be added to any CAD/Mephrit Detachment.
Yeah, spot-on: it's a lot more clear now that I've got the WD in front of me too. The "formation" is the Reclamation Legion which has it's own formation datasheet in WD. The formation becomes a Decurion detachment when you start adding the other listed Aux & Command elements to it and they pick up their own special rules as well as the three main rules from the Core of the formation. The extra blurb that I highlighted in my other post is referring to the Core formation and it's optional elements belonging to the same detachment, which usually can't be done with formations as they're normally fixed and can't be added to. It would make even more sense if there were another special rule or two (like Command Benefits) that applied to the entire detachment when you add extra elements to it but...well, we'll see when it's out and we get time to study it properly. Thanks again, Jacked!
