OK, did I just see an issue with destroyers when everything was going so well getting an extra wound.

In the old codex the Gauss cannon and the Heavy Gauss cannon were assault weapons. Did I see Jacked up designate them as Heavy Weapons, in which case no moving before firing if you want to fire at full ballistic skill. I know there are some ways of getting the relentless rule but how worth while is this. Or did I imagine that. Will we be reduced to using Heavy Destroyers as static gun platforms, a bit like a Broadside. Then add to this that Destroyer Lords can't easily mix with Wraiths and Praetorians and the whole Destroyer Platform is starting to appear less inviting. I am going to have to hide Heavy Destroyers behind monoliths and then move the Monolith so the Destroyers can shoot and then jet pack move the destroyers back behind the Monolith. Is this sounding complicated or what ??

I checked and answered my own question, these are Heavy Weapons. There is a warlord trait that allows units within 12 inches of the Warlord to have the relentless special rule. Looks like Zandrek is going to be busy :-)

What does Phaeron do, it used to allow relentless to the unit the Phaeron was in, can any lord / over lord / destroyer lord get this, what is its range ??

Destroyers are Jet Pack Infantry now, which gives them Relentless automatically.

Re: Gauss Cannons.

Has no functional effect on gameplay. Destroyers are Jet Pack Infantry (man, they really want to keep nerfing their mobility, someone at the design team hated old Destroyer Wing) and JPI are Relentless and therefore can shoot Heavy Weapons after moving (and then still charge after).

Sadly I see Destroyers staying on the shelf. Their big problem was never durability, it was their lack of need. Necrons are pretty good at MEQ killing without them. They needed a price drop or added range, not W2.

Tesla: To Hit roll of 6 causes 2 additional hits on the target. Snap shots never cause additional hits due to Tesla.

Being an MC and the powers being classed as a ranged weapon can the c'tan fire these powers twice in a turn?

They have a (single) piece of wargear called "Powers of the C'Tan", which may be used "as a ranged weapon".

While I'm sure the internet will debate this forever, I'm not seeing how we can get away with firing it twice.

On the upside, the Nightbringer can fire that and Gaze of Death a each turn, and it seems like they can pick different targets for each.

I think a lot points to no to the Ctan dbl shooting. But whatever, you're right about the internet is going to enjoy that one.

Yea they can shoot at 2 different targets if they had 2 different weapons

Thanks guys for the clarification of Jet Pack Infantry and Relentless. I was getting really worried there was virtually nothing in this codex for a Necron player. Still am seeing the Nerfs outweigh the Buffs though.

There's a couple nice things so far... Overlord with the 2+ armor artifact hanging out with Orikan is basically immune to non-AP2.

Wraiths with Reanimation Protocols from the Canoptek Harvest will average one wound per ten power fists to the face... as long as you can keep their Spyder power-source alive (and you might as well paint a giant red target on its carapace).

Lichguard with shields could stall just about anyone for just about forever... if they catch their target napping. I would literally have gone out today and bought a Ghost Ark for them, but they're not allowed to ride 'em

I have another question - you said Nemesor Zahndrekh "may" pick a new warlord trait every turn after turn 1, but can't "pick" the same trait more than once...

...but once he picks a new trait, can he sit on that one a turn or two before picking a new one? Or once he starts picking, he MUST keep picking a new trait every turn? In other words, can you pick a new trait turn 2 and keep it as many turns as you like? Or will he have 5 different WL traits in 5 turns if he start picking turn 2?
