What should i count this as?

k part of the reason i mostly wondered if i should count the other beast i showed all of you as a hierodule was that i had already started on what i wanted to be a hierophant equivalent. The issue is that the larger "hierophant" style i was going for turned out a little ridiculous in proportion, but actually seems pretty similar in rations that the forgeworld hierophant and hierodule would have next to each other,

this beast is around 22'' high at the top of its back, the talons make it reach 36'' wide and 36'' from front claws to back. so here the other beast i'm wondering what to do with. I'm thinking now that maybe i'll just save it for really fluffy apocalypse games. Cause isn't there some epic fluff about there being a "hydraphant" or something that's a sooped up hierophant.

Because i always wondered why the tyranids never developed anything bigger than a warhound titan, since the imperials scale up way larger. So maybe i could just use a profile more like a warlord? guess i'd have to make those up tho.

a few other size comparison shots, with it next to a carnifex, the new tyrannocyte, my dark eldar wraith knight, and a warhound im scratch building for a future choas force, and cause you know, my bugs need some resistance to over come. the warhoud is around 14'' tall, so about 2'' taller than forge world's. 

























and just another close up here, got some orks dangling there in what are going to be detailed lash whips. Also im making some scything talons for it, inspired by a picture of tau fighting nids in the apocalypse book that depicts a hierophant having talons where the cannons usually are. The arms aren't close to done yet, and the miniature as a whole is still rather skeletal and not fleshed out yet, but i'm just wondering how i'm going to use it when i'm done =P







so any ideas of what i could do with this even bigger beast?

These all look crazy! Definitely count as a hierophant. The taller one could be a Hydraphant, no rules exist for it though, you'd have to come up with something custom for it's ruleset. One thing about the model itself, I'd bulk it up considerably as it doesn't look like it could take a hit very well.

ya, it's just thin right now because because i made it out of a stick i found while on a hike, it's not as far along as the shorter one as far as fleshing it out. I do plan on bulking it quite a bit more. That will just add another dimensional difficulty, weight XD. i'll just have to find something light weight.

I also just like the idea of having something tyranid that's taller than a reaver titan XD.

Glad to hear it isn't done yet, can't wait to see the finished product. Ya know what? I'm gonna give writing some rules for a Hydraphant a go!

*edit: use some cut up plastic containers to bulk it out, then make ribs out of your Popsicle sticks and flesh/ gap-fill with hot glue.
