The current Chaos Marines codex is rather unpopular unless you like spamming Hell Chickens. There are a lot of things in that codex that are pretty terrible actually. Mostly because they didn't get changed enough from their prior terrible edition.

I personally rather like the Chaos Space Marine Codex for the most part, but it's not his finest work.

The Space Wolves codex is terrible in exactly the same way a lot of GW codices are terrible of late, i.e. horribly inconsistent. Some units are basically auto-take, most others should be left at home. His last Eldar codex was passable at best.

Kelly's best work was being done in 4th Edition.

I never said he's ever been perfect. But the 4th ed Nids Codex was the best book we've ever had, and it was never overpowered in the same manner that Space Wolves were (for a lot longer too)

I'm not saying that it's a horrible idea for a codex. Actually, if it weren't for fexes in elite, it would have to be my favourite codex I have ever downloaded laid my eyes on. However, I wouldn't say that his best work was in 4th edition. I like his work on Dark Eldar and Chaos Space Marines much more.

Dark Eldar's a good counter-argument. Pete Haines and Gav Thorpe did most of the heavy lifting on the CSM codex, and much as I personally like it there are a lot of missteps (Land Raiders, Warp Talons, Mutilators, anything remotely connected to Tzeentch apart from Ahriman).

Thousand Sons were alway just the poor guys standing aside. Not even Emprah liked them, so do players. And everyody knew Warp talons are coming purely and only for Night Lords fluffy players (thank god, I dont wanna see every random guy using raptors and talons, as Im huge lover of Night Lords). But Ive gotta say I like the new ChSM codex, although some stuff had to be reworked/BUFFED more. But in overall, I think the codex is just fine.

Also, I dont udnerstand why are people complaining so much about Kelly copypasting half of the codex. Just why not, when its usually around half of the codex that is working just fine. And what is the pont of changing every single unit in the codex? I always thought new codex should be here to update the army and "repair" whats broken, not to give it complete transgender.

Not complaining about Kelly copy pastaing the previous edition, just commenting that it isn't enough of a change for what we need in our codex right now. We need a huge upheaval. Simple as that.

Players actually love, or want to love Thousand Sons. But apparently GW hates them...

Yeah, pretty much everyone I've ever spoken to on the subject loves the Thousand Sons, and hates that they suck. If they had two wounds like they used to, then they would be usable. As it is they're just really expensive and die like any other Space Marine. Unless 40k becomes like Fantasy where you can take multiple saves, that invulnerable save rarely does anything.

Also, can people please stop incorrectly thinking that Night Lords are obsessed with Raptors? In the 3.5 codex they didn't have the usual 0-1 restriction on them to represent that they make more extensive use of them than most warbands. That does not mean that most of them are Raptors and they're obsessed with Raptors! It's one of the things that so many people seem to think that just isn't true, right up there with people referring to Hive Tyrants as female. It says quite clearly in the 3rd edition codex that Hive Tyrants are male, and the female counterpart to the Hive Tyrant is the Dominatrix. As with many creatures (a lot of snakes for example) the female is larger.

When people say "Obssessed" or "A lot of them are" they really mean they make extensive use of them. It's the same way that Tau are "obsessed" and "can't get enough of" their own AIs, tyranids sending their kids to bullet school by the droves, Dark angels being 'Obsessed and specialized" with plasma weaponry and necrons being obsessed with not dying. Night lord armies are sorta heralded with sneaky, jump and terror tactics - much likethe raven guard but less scary. Now the raven guard probably don't have that many jump packs than any other chapter but, like night lords, those armies use a bunch of them.

Also, I ignore that bit of fluff. All tyranids on the groud, in my eyes, are either infertile females or genderless (I also like to think there is a gender changing function, such as that of clown fish, if they lose contact with a hive mind, to explain away the remnant populations of abandoned tyranids)

Well Hormagaunts are clearly fertile, either parthenogenetic females, hermaphroditic, or male & female, because they lay eggs.
