The 6th Edition Hierophant Bio-Titan

@kwodd More than likely. The formation just gets to roll on a chart if they charge a Super Heavy Vehicle or Super Heavy Walker. You roll a D6 and add the number of models from this formation that are charging the same target. 1 = No Effect, 2-5 = The Vehicle suffers a penetrating hit resolved before the fight sub-phase, 6+ = The vehicle being charged loses D3+1 hull points.

I'm going to have to buy the new Apoc book from Forge World, the Bio-Titan is just too expensive of a model to have just sitting on a shelf!

This is interesting if you go on the Forge World website and look at the new Apoc book and find the picture of the Tyranids you can barely see what the Bio-Titan is getting in terms of upgrades here is what I can make out (I hope this doesn't get me in trouble):

Incendiary Ichor - Whenever a Bio-Titan suffers an unsaved wound in a fight sub-phase, place a large blast template over the model that caused the wound. All models, other than the Bio-Titan, that are under the template suffer an immediate wound, with no armor saves of any kind allowed. Vehicles under the template instead suffer D3 Glancing Hits. All wounds caused by this biomorph counts for combat resolution.

Swarm Incubation Chamber - The Bio-Titan gains a Transport capacity of 20 models, and friendly models from Codex: Tyranids may embark and disembark from it as though it was a Vehicle with the Transport type and Assault vehicle special rule.

Spore Cloud Spary - Range 48" STR 7 AP5 Heavy (6): Sky-Fire and Twin-Linked

Bio-Plasma Torrent - Range Hellstorm STR 5 AP 3 Heavy (1): Soul Blaze and Blind

Spore Mine Swarm Spitter - Range 120" STR 4 AP 4 Apocalypse Barrage (?)

Any Bio-Titan can choose only one of the options listed above in addition to the wargear it comes with.

*Please note that its really tough to make out and I did the best I could, point values for all this were blocked out by Forge World. So now what do you guys think of the Bio-Titan?

I kinda think that even Forge World dropped the ball a bit on the Bio-Titan. I think you should have been able to purchase both the Incendiary Ichor and the Swarm Incubation Chamber but you can only purchase one of the actual weapons listed.

Man, Swarm Incubation Chamber would make a warrior brood NASTY! But that Spore Cloud Spray sounds incredibly useful too.

Only one? damn.. all those options are awesome. I was hoping for some kind of improved save, but this stuff is still good.

i dont know how many of you own a hierophant or harridan but owning 3 hierophants and 2 harridans her is my input on actual games played.

they are still both awesome, yes you could potentially die from D if the person rolls a 6 (17% chance) but you also have 2 chances to bring him back for a victory point each break. the last game my hierophant took out an aquilla strong point twin link lascannon, 2 shadowswords, a bunch of marines, was down to 4 wounds at one point and ended the game with 8 and not dieing once. the harridan took out 3 flyers (with ease i might say) and suffered no groundings or wounds the who game and was a threat where ever he showed up. we used the new rules and it was one of the best games i ever had fun wise. I also won 27-11 in victory points (8 turn game). It was only a 14,000 point game (7000 Tyranids against ultra marines and some guard) but I only used one hierophant and 1 harridan. the new upgrades coming for the hierophant make him even more versatile. play the new rules and i think you will enjoy the game. make sure you use the right assets. I even used the orbital bombardment (for Nids), awesome, took out the fortress of redemption with it in the same game exposing all the troops inside (who were left) and the genestealers ate them up! it's not as bad as you think, play the game and see! I was hoping for D but so far so good is my opinion. Sure I loved the 3+ invun when we had it but it's still a beast to take down for anything, even D unless he rolls a 6, but then you bring him back at the break for 1 victory point! so far it hasn't happened for me yet. it still takes focus away from all the other tyranids on the table. in any apoc game the objective is to get rid of the big stuff first and then clean up. getting points for objectives after each break also made the game much more exciting. first break was 3-3, second break was 11-10 tyrannies and end of game ended up 27-11. awesome, the new rules are great!
