She pulled the rifle from her back taking aim at the window and pulling the trigger. A body slumped through the window and a roar from the rioters followed. She was aiming again as she answered her voice terse, "I didn't shoot at ya. I was takin aim at a bloke what had it in for me. Bullets bounce round these parts." She pulled the trigger in the middle of the sentence bringing down another rioter outside and had time to motion at the warehouse around them before she was aiming again. Both heard shouts of get the kid and she turned towards him winking in a devilish manner, "I don't expect you're my type luv, little lad like like yourself ain't useful for much sides dustin' I expect." The door was beginning to heave under the weight of the people beating against it. She stepped so she was standing in his corner. He watched her pull out a new clip jamming in into the rifle and aiming at the door, "I hope ya realize that when they burst through that door we have about two minutes to climb outta here and get somewhere safe before I don't have enough ammo to shoot the world." Her face was serious and he could tell she was looking for an escape route for them. She looked at the stairs on the room, "When that door heaves, and I say run, you make for the roof. You get up there, and I'll figure a way down."
Her gun was pointed at the door, and it was forced open with a jarring squeech and she didn't even look as she opened fire on several military officers that were streaming through the door. Shots answered her back forcing her to duck to the side of the wall and keep firing. Tear gas came rolling in and she shook her head reaching out for the collar of the lad's shirt, "No time for that now. You got the military on you." A bullet grazed her leg as she dragged him off the generator for the stairs covering him with her own meat. Despite this, she was pushing him rather hard up the stairs towards the roof.

Omega had managed to hold back the bulk of the crowd but even they where no match for that many humans. Once the crowd had realized that the creatures where only aiming to knock people unconscious they held nothing back, charging with all sorts of weapons they began to pull down the wolves one by one until only one was left. Bleeding and panting he attempted to make a run for it but one of his legs vanished in a spray of gore as a cheer went up from the crowd. Giving one final burst of speed the main body of the crowd hit the warehouse, most trying to push themselves inside while others armed with a variety of fire arms took up guard around the building, beginning to open fire on military personnel in an attempt to avenge fallen comrades they had belied to be killed by the officers. ---- As the group had started fighting rioters the juiced up Sapper made no attempt to attack them, seemingly content to stare at them as long as they stayed where they where. The only action he took was to fry to odd rioter that tried to make a break for the stairs, but once the military arrived this quickly changed. In a roar of rage he sprinted at the thickest group he could see, a mixture of military personal and rioters pushing and pulling at a shield wall that had formed. ---- On the floor leading onto the roof Kel and Lex where met with a very peculiar sight that stopped them in their tracks. Gathered around the floor where several Sub's of all kinds, but what really drew their eye was a clustered group of what must have been nearly two dozen children, all showing signs of Sub mutation and being cared for by several teen's. When the Sub's caught sight of the two the children slunk back in fear as the adults raised what looked to be old police issue shotgun's.
"Hold your distance!" A woman with a heavy Irish accent, holding a pistol barked. "We only have to stay here for a few more minutes, and I'll be damned if I let any of this children get hurt because of people like you!"

Lex was pulled off the generator before he could get fully charged up but it he had enough to last him a while, as his illumination indicated. Being shoved up the stairs annoyed him to now end but when there some indication of the army after him he was not too bothered with having somebody armed and trained between him and the threat. It would make sense to keep her alive though. He pulled her up the stairs letting off several arcs of lightening indiscriminately into the white haze before making it for the roof, him making sure she'd coming with him.
Finally on the top of the building, Lex was bent over wheezing and showing how unfit he was next to somebody of combat expirience. Straightening up and looking Kel in the eye, A friendly smile and a charming tone, "I think we go' off to a bad start, the name's Lex" He held out his right hand to shake. His smile faded and he stepped, his hands high in surrender. Kel not knowing of the Irish woman with her gun aimed at them, "Look gov, we don' wan' any trouble."

Alucard was content to let the old sapper take care of the mess below,he followed the 2 up the stairs, dodging a bullet or 2 on his way up,as he reached the roof he saw the crowd of sapper's and realised he was in trouble "my my,quite a freak show gathered here" he aimed one pistol up and fired a round into the air,"I'm here for the police officer, hand him over and i won't harm any of you"

Kellin grinned at the boy, he came around quickly. She'd let go of her rifle to shake his hand only to watch him raise his up. She turned to look at the Irish woman. She could feel blood trickling down her leg. But she kept a stiff upper lip, "Who you callin' people like me? Do I look like I'm dragging this one round by the ear just to turn him in?"
Then Alucard appeared near enough to her and the Irish woman had turned her attention to him. Kellin used the opportunity to put her hand back on the rifle and raise it aimed at Alucard, "Put that down. You aren't harming anything." She circled slowly leaving her back to the subs until she stood between him and the crowd. Her face was smoothe but he could sense the hostility from every fiber of her being. Maybe it was the way her dark green eye stared him down. " I want you to think long and hard before you go down this path with me. I'm X Captain in the Marines and I've spent the last 4 years working as a Black Ops, I got out of bed today for a riot against a sort of people I like very much. And you are pointing a gun at them, and pointed one at me making all kinds of demands." Her voice didn't waver, "You go down this road with me and don't think I'll bat an eye in shooting that pretty little red hat right off your head and then pummeling you until you're squirting blood out every hole I put in your body." She glanced backwards at the people her eyes meeting the Irish woman's long enough for her to notice the mismatched eyes, " What are you waiting for? We need to get out of here. There are kids. You don't know what they'll do. The army is pulling out, and some of them are helping."

Alucard put one hand to his hat while the other aimed at Kel. "I wonder, who do you value more, you or those behind you?"
Having said that,he jumped sidewards while emptying his right pistol towards them. (2 bullets)

The answer came fast as he shot. She internally grimaced as she step forward and shoved the irish woman to the side. The first bullet landed square in her shoulder and the other hit right below it. Kellin had been shot before. She'd been shot a lot before in fact. But she could never quite get used to the pain it included. Sometimes, her and a few of the other mercs that ran jobs played a game they lovingly called two for flinching. Kellin almost always lost. But she wasn't about to lay down over a few bullets in the shoulder. She put her gun up while he was reloading, and as promised took his pretty little red hat off with the force of a shot that promised she could have aimed a bit lower.
She followed this up by closing the distance quickly grabbing the gun he was reloading and cracking his nose with her good hand. He could see the blood oozing to the front of her uniform and she didn't look happy. She would have pummled him into a squishy stain on the ground had the windows not exploded firing glass everywhere. She could hear the army calling for them to remain still and calm. She lifted her arm giving him one last good crack in the head with her damaged arm which smeared some of her own blood against his head. "You are filth. There are children and mothers. I hope you rot in the darkest crevice of eternity. Because if it weren't for them, I'd send you there myself." She turned firing her weapon at a soldier that was swinging through the window. She pointed at the final stairs and shouted, "Everyone go." She grabbed Alex first thrusting him up the stairs and proceeded to shove the others while firing at various windows. Soldiers and rioters were beginning to stream in, and they were blocking Jinx's line of sight on Kellin. She followed the people up onto the roof and looked for an answer. There had to be a way out. She turned in the chaos looking for Alex. She finally spotted him and she moved over to him covering him again, "Look, can you tie this off for me, Lex. I gotta get you off the roof before I'm allowed to bleed out." She grinned at him, but he could see by the sweat on her face and the relative paleness that she was in great pain, "I'm Kellin, most people just call me Kel."

Alucard finished reloading his gun and licked some blood up that was flowing from his nose,"my my,aren't you one tough (please do not swear)" he said before emptying both of his guns into the soldiers, all bullets aimed for the head, most hitting target (12 bullets) he quickly let his magazines hit the floor while pushing some new ones into his pistols.
The bullet had hit his hat with enough force to blow it out of his hands but he didn't even bother to dodge,he had a keen eye and noticed the bullet wasn't aimed at him,he took a step back and retrieved his hat, putting it back on his head while emptying another mag into the crowd of soldiers, trying to shoot those inbetween him and Kel.

Lex was not so easily swayed by her instruction. He helped the Irish woman up, looking as apologetic as he could, "Well ma'am, you were a propa moody one weren' ya? Git y'self up, we aren't gonna 'urt ya" he reassured her by giving back her shotgun aimed at him (with his finger behind the trigger, because this was to get her trust, she didn't have his).
He ended up helping the rest of the kids up the stairs and out, the Irish woman the Lex covering their escape as soldiers began firing in. Lex's glow grew dimmer as he let a barrage of electric arcs to deter anyone coming after them. One of the men took aim at the threat and his him in the right upper arm. The pain was indescribable. It was so visceral, was radiating, it was a shockwave of sensation throughout his entire body and it made him collapse to his knees, his mouth hung open and gasping as if a fish out of water. As an after thought he furiously unleashed a blue hot beam of what electrical energy he had left deep into the chest of the bloke to hit him. It was no where near has badly as the injuries that Kel had but he had never been hit before, he was not some battle hardened mercenary. When Kel came over to cover him, he was already fading out and didn't really react to what she said. He was gripping his arm and military personnel were closing in.

Kellin turned back to the boy who was fading out and gritted her teeth. She leaned down towards the boy's shirt and almost effortlessly tore a strip from it. She gritted her teeth tying her shoulder off and then tore another piece and tied Lex's arm for him. She squatted beside him with a grunt of effort and lifted him onto her shoulders. She retrieved her rifle and ran to the edge of the building. She glanced downwards spotting a ladder. She turned, the soldiers had closed on the roof top. She could see rioters below at the ladder and she made an instant decision. She reached towards her belt for a can of tear gas and let it fly below her. She climbed onto the ladder her bad arm securing Lex against her. She used the other and her feet to slide down the ladder at an unhealthy pace. Her feet met the ground hard and her wounded leg buckled under it. The tear gas was just starting to really kick in as she stumbled through the crowd which was shouting for people to get the subs. She gritted her teeth trying to think of something to keep her going.
She knew her home would be safe at least until they started asking what happened to her. But she already knew daddy's power could keep her from the worst of it. She gritted her teeth as she walked, it was lucky the people had been told to stay in there homes and the soldiers were busy with the riot, nobody was around to question her about what was going on. She dug into her pocket for her phone and managed to dial the number she needed on it.
She pushed her way into her apartment only to be met by the barking of her dog. "Down boy." The dog growled as she pushed all the empty bottles and plates off of the kitchen table and put Lex down on it. She disappeared off returning with a medical kit. It didn't take very much of her medical skills (small as they were) to patch the wound up. She managed to get some pain medicine into him and move him over to her bed before she collapsed into the kitchen chair.
Her dog moved over whining with fear and she turned towards the dog, "I know. Be nice to him. And let Corey in when he gets here." She was aroused from an almost passed out state by the needle entering her arm. She startled at this and almost hit him. "Did a number this time. What were you doing? Fighting in that riot?" Kellin grimaced at him, "Boating Accident." Corey grinned handing her the iv bag which had blood dripping into her arm. He'd pulled off most of her armor and shirt and was threading a needle. " Yeah, always a boating accident with you. I don't know why you aren't honest about it. Not like a upstanding gent like myself would care." She grinned, "Why would you care about my boating accident?"
"I wouldn't." She smiled at him still holding the bag up, "Little fella in there, I fixed him up, if you wanna make sure he's alright." Corey disappeared and came back in a couple minutes grinning, "Didn't realize you went for the tikes." She glared, "He isn't like that." Corey leaned in poking her damaged shoulder, "What's he like then? Another charity case?" She shrugged, "Nah. You know me. Just passing out the clock." Corey shrugged at this and opened her fridge grabbing a beer and tossing it towards her. She caught it and knocked the cap off of the table, "What do I owe you for this?" He grinned, "I can think of some methods that..." The dog growled at the look on her face and moved towards Corey, "I guess for the boy and your leg and shoulder about the usual." She grinned as he sat down across from her drink in hand.

The Irish woman smiled savagely before giving Lex a nod and unloading her own pistol in Alucard's, though most of the shots hit soldier and rioters alike, one did manage to clip his ear. "We can't leave! We just hav- Hey! Where are you going!" The woman had turned to yell at kel but she was already gone. Swearing she spat on the floor before moving into position around the children like the other Sub's had, keeping the worst of the crowd away with shotgun blasts that left little but bloody streaks behind of what they left.
However they where no match for the military's longer range assault weapons, which had started to pick off some of the outer protectors. "Where the (please do not swear) is he?!" The woman yelled as she loaded her last clip.
"Calm down dear. I'm on time..." Nearly jumping out of her skin the woman turned to look at the man behind her. If it could be called a man that is. He easily stood above seven foot, with thin spidery limbs. Every centimeter of his skin was either covered by his black suit, gloved or bowler hat. The only thing that might have shown something was his face but that too was covered in an old style gas mask with reflective lenses for eyes. "Now should we leave? Mr Magic should be finishing up the party soon..." He glanced down at his wrist even though there was no watch there.
The woman's face looked as if it was close to melting in relief as she nodded and took the things hand just as an explosion rocked the lower floor of the warehouse. Green electricity jumped from every conductive surface it could find, causing people to shudder and fall to the floor at the slightest contact. Looking up the last thing Alucard saw before being engulfed in neon green was the waving hand of the tall man.
When he woke up a few minutes later he found himself surrounded by half steering bodies, all centered around a still green glowing patch of concrete. Of the Sub's however not a single one remained. Not even the Sapper that had caused the explosion. The only clue that they where there at all where their shadows burnt into the floor and walls. Alucard didn't get long to admire the impressive trick however as a nearby soldiers radio crackled into life, sputtering something about Homeland Security. He wasn't sure what it meant but he could tell he shouldn't be here for much longer.
Though one thing still laid heavy upon him: He had failed his mission.

Alucard was mildly annoyed by his failure,he got up as quickly as his body allowed him (which wasn't very fast seeing he as just hit by something rather powerful) and threw his sunglasses to the floor, the explosion had broken them anyway and he couldn't handle anything against his ear right now,he squeezed his entire ear with his hand as hard as possible to stop the bleeding. He knew it wouldn't work,he'd need surgery, but he wasn't planning on bleeding to death from a "small" wound on his ear. Using his other hand,he picked up both of his pistols, the blast having thrown them a couple meters away from him and putting them into their holsters.
Alucard was fascinated by the police officer, for a girl to take 2 bullets in the shoulder and still keep acting like nothing happened, she was tough. Even though he failed his mission,he knew he'd hunt her again,a worthy opponent always make his blood rush, would she be someone that would be able to kill him? The very thought gave him an adrenaline surge, using it,he took the stairs and got as far away from the building as his body could carry him.
After about 15 minutes of running,he figured he was far enough so he hid his pistols and ammo and went to the nearest hospital to get his ear fixed, giving the excuse that he got caught up in the riot when he was taking a walk and got hit by a bullet, fleeing the scene as far as his legs could carry him.
The nurse told him they'd have to put him to sleep to perform surgery on his ear,he didn't like it,but it's not like he had a choice.

The pain had him in almost nauseous fatigue. He had no idea what was going on, the the sound of the crowd and the blur of movement distorted as he went into the delirium of shock. He could barely register the falling feeling as they dropped from the ladder and was completely disorientated. How did it come to this? What did he think he was doing? How could he save his family? He could hardly take a non-fatal bullet wound. The effects of shock rolled his eye back and blacked him out....
....he was roused by some very painful tugs at this wounds, but he was so druggy he couldn't do much more than moan and rock his head a little. As he finally got the will to open his eyes, his slowly focusing vision saw a man walking away. He heard the wimper of a dog and decided to get up. His limbs felt so heavy and his injured arm felt dead. He could feel the burning wound but it seemed as if it were made of lead. He found it was in a short sling and he winced getting up. The sudden horror came over him - What if the military have him. He jumped up looking around on-guard and concluding that some ill-mantained kitchen was probably not one of the most state-of-the-art military prisons. Him getting up so fast favoured himself to a bit of postural hypotension and he slid back down with dizziness with a crash. This evidently got the man's attention when he came abruptly back, "You right bud?" Lex initially flinched and the guy laughed briefly, "I ain't gonna hurt you, are you alright?" "Yeah, I-I guess. I feel bloo'y groggy though gov." The guy gave an ammused look at the accent, "Well, this is a little out of an East-ender's natural habbitat. Here I'll give you a boost." "Cheers," he thanked himalthough a little off put by the go at his accent, "name's Lex by da way". "Corey" He winced a little when the guys accidentally bumped his arm.
Hobbling after the man he saw Kell sitting on the floor and he put on his warmer smile, although wasn't convinced he was hiding his own pain. "So wha's tha deal wif you?" He said seeing Kel again, "Since when do a jar 'ead 'ave a 'eart fer dream sucking, warewolves and sparkies?"

Kellin was still holding up the IV draining blood back into her body and she turned as Lex entered. Corey moved over to her once he felt Lex was stable and put his hands under her arms hauling her up into a chair. The fact that she was sitting in a Bra which had one strap cut didn't seem to be phasing her because she just took another swig of beer and didn't respond to the question right away. Corey moved around behind her and grinned leaning over her shoulders hugging her, "Yeah, Lassie. Why don't you tell him why a Jar 'ead 'ave a 'eart fer dream sucking warewolves and sparkies. Tell him wha's the deal wif you." Corey's tone was mocking, but Lex couldn't tell who he was mocking until Kellin spoke again, "Corey, I know you're looking down. And if you like that smug smile on your face you'll stop leaning on me right now and go get yourself a drink."
Surprisingly, Corey obeyed and returned holding a beet a grin on his face. Kellin pointed at a chair for Lex, " You're a kid. I don't care what you are. Kids don't get shot. Kids shouldn't get shot. The fact that you did get shot is already weighing on me." Corey snorted from his position leaning on the stove, "Ahh come on Kel. You could at least tell the boy here the whole truth." Corey grinned from the counter, "Kel here is what we all call a sympathetic. Most stirring one you'll ever see. I can't say whether it's daddy issues or love life issues. I mean when you're a widow at...OW!" He didn't get to finish the sentence, Kel had powered through the bottle of beer and right as he was about to finish the sentence tossed it at the wall behind his head. She pointed at the door with her bad hand, "I don't reckon a need for you to stay here flapping those lips. And since you aren't flapping in a pleasing manner I think you're gonna leave."
Corey nodded slowly as if expecting worse than that. He moved over to Kel who remained seated and leaned over kissing her on the cheek. "See you honey." He passed Lex as he was leaving and smiled leaning over to him, "She keeps some nice meds in the cabinet. And you better watch out, she's a wild one." With that he was out the door a briefcase in hand leaving them.
Kel looked up at Lex and sighed rubbing her head, "Look, how about thank you for helping me? And if you could stop callin' me by things that aren't my name and are insulting that'd be nice. After that, what do you care why I have a heart? Isn't having one good enough fer you?"

Lex shook his head at the request, "Well I do fank ya, but dis isn't a world o' 'earts anymore, ya know dat," He said, wincing whenever his arm would even move as a slid down the wall to sit opposite Kel, "Look gov'nah, I is in no position to be bovered 'bout whever of not we're worf protectin." he said in a sombre tone, "So you'd forgive me if I fink dat the military forces started standn' up fer us is a little odd."
Lex got his wallet and showed her a photo, Kel noted that he was the only white kid in the prodominantly black family. "Dis is my fam'ly, I 'ave no idea where dey are or wha' doze hooligans out there 'ave done to 'em. Last I 'eard dey were in 'military protection', so we moved over 'ere juss to get locked up by the gov'ment. They coul'nt give two 5h1ts 'bout me vough, I saw a mob of geezas bash a vampire to a bloo'y pulp and soldiers posted fer public protection juss watched da poor bugger die. Dey juss watched him" She said shaking his head. "I'm guessing you were stemming dat riot fer public protection too, but ya actions made it clear as mud dat we're no' membrs of da public. So ya migh' forgiff me for questioning why one of ya gun totters suddenly go' a conscience, ay?"
