Tyranid multi weapon bonus change?

I just joined my first 40k Club. A fellow Nid player told me that they changed the tyranid multi weapon bonus. Where we used to not get a bonus for having multiple melee weapons.

He says we do. In fact he says for every melee weapon besides the first gives a bonus. I.e. guants have two talon arms +1A, Swarmlord has 4 sword amrs +3A


I looked everywhere but could not find proof to back his claim up. This is my first club so I assumed he knew more than me, so I just played what he said. Is he right or is he crazy.

Not sure where he is getting those rules from...the codex specifically states what effects each weapon has, whether it's scything talons, rending claws, or Swarmy's bonesabres. Scything talons used to grant +1 attack per pair, but that was the old codex.

Yeah I know about our Codex, wasnt sure about the new Gen Rule book or a Faq

Yeah, I'm still somewhat a new-comer to playing 40k, but even I can understand the bit in the codex about "tyranids do not get bonus attacks for multiple CC weapons as they are already included in their profile". (paraphrased)

Nothing has changed. The bit on Pg.33 in our Dex still holds. Nids can use the various effects of different CC upgrades together, but still do not get bonus Attacks for multiple CCWs.

Pg. 24 in the main Rulebook also says that no matter how many CCWs a Model has, they can gain a max of one Bonus Attack for them. Gives a specific example of a Model with four arms and 4 CCWs, says that it would only get one Bonus Attack. The only exception I know of is Walker-type Vehicles, which do keep getting extra Attacks.

I was doubting him, but was really hoping! I mean giving all our gaunts another attack.... giving the Swarm lord three more attacks!!!!! guess its just a pipdream.

Would be nice if Nids were actually fluffworthy in close combat nowadays (except Stealers, 'cause they still melt whatever they touch), but yes all attacks are already included in the profile so no bonus attacks.

Nothing in the new rulebook, new rulebook FAQ, or Tyranid FAQ changes that clause in our rulebook. That guy at your local shop is pulling that out of some undesirable place probably kept in his pants.

Fixed But yeah, no extra attacks. It'd be nice, but until our next codex (IF they decide to change it for whatever reason) it's sadly as everyone above has said.

The main thing is I think they kind of did take the fluff into account, it's just that the extra attacks are already included on the profile (hormagaunts vs termagants, for instance).

It's also possible that when he said "they" changed it, he meant it was more of a house rule for the club due to consistently bad showings from Tyranid players. As a way to bolstering them up.

Beyond that, it sounds like he skimmed over our codex and missed the blurb about how we don't get extra attacks. Probably assuming that the BRB trumps all when it comes to that.

Only thing I can think if is the dred cc weapons that do that. Maybe he got this mixed up somehow???
