It makes me laugh a little when people look at movies like this for more than just some cool action stuff. These movies are never the stuff that acting legends are born from. I always go into it with the expectation that it's going to be a spoofy action movie. Just be grateful that you will get to see a live action movie that features Giant Robots fighting Dinosaurs and it doesn't look like the old Godzilla or Ray Harryhausen "Dynamation" movies!

I will absolutely go see it! Not for its literary contribution, but for giant Dinosaur Ass kicking robots... and GLaDOS of course.

Your laughter would turn to a moan and facepalm at what humanity has become if you ever met my father. He thinks that special effects = best movie of all time. He thinks the stories are awesome and great, and everything is great and that these types of movies are the best movies ever. As you can maybe tell, my dad isn't really capable of deep thinking.

Also... I really wish people WOULD make movies with giant robots fighting dinosaurs AND give it a wicked plot. I'm so jaded with all the movies that are just <something> versus <something> with explosions and hot girls thrown in the mix.

Back on track, I saw this trailer a month or more ago, and I didn't think nids, I thought "This is a western action flick rendition of what they'd imagine to be japanese mechas fighting an army of gozillas... and it may or may not be saturated in a gravy of "AMERICA IS THE BESTEST BEST BEST COUNTRY EVAR AND EVERYONE IS INCOMPETANT!" Sorry my american friends, but I think you can see how the rest of us might find that annoying .

I think this is a movie I'll either watch in theatres with my dad (because that's the only way we can bond) or I'll wait to see if it hits Netflix here and watch it when I'm craving some robot-godzilla rocket punching action.

The whole "USA saves everything" is a little old now - sadly its a pattern unlikely to change (as is casting all the bad people with english actors/accented actors).
