So the question is: What's the most competitive between 8 or 9 Tervigons? I am currently running 5 Tervigons and on my way to getting the other 3-4... so what would be the best way to go?

My thoughts...
The first list has your basic Tervigons with Catalyst and Dominion and depending on your opponent you could roll on the appropriate chart for powers... Flyer heavy, roll for Objuration Mechanicum, Dark Eldar keep Catalyst, Space Marines or Necrons/Tau/Eldar - Biomancy.
Spawning every round for every Tervigon & not losing any to shooting ;D:
Turn 1: about 95 Termagants
Turn 2: about 53 Termagants
Turn 3: about 32 Termagants
Turn 4: about 21 Termagants
Turn 5: about 11 Termagants
Total Spawned = about 223 Termagants
The downsides compared to the other lists, are fewer powers and close combat ability of the Tervigons. I don't know about your games, but I really miss my CC when I don't bring them.
Which leads me to list #2: Added powers and crushing claws with the loss of one Tervigon in the HQ section. Also, swapping Psychic Powers on the Warlord to keep cost down and make the points balance out. This has more hitting power in a 1v1 match up with the Tervigons but lower overall output with the Termagant spawning.
Turn 1: about 84 Termagants
Turn 2: about 53 Termagants
Turn 3: about 32 Termagants
Turn 4: about 21 Termagants
Turn 5: about 11 Termagants
Total Spawned = about 212 Termagants
