To buy: Harridan or Hierophant?

So I have decided to bite the bullet and pay silly silly money for a big creature to paint... But I can't decide which! So here's a little poll. Assuming I enjoy it enough, I may get the second one also, assuming my bank balance permits, but wondering which to go for first. Thinking both in terms of fun-to-paint-and-build and how viable they are for battle. So- Hierophant or Harridan? Let the vote commence! (Reasons below also please!)

Well I got a hierophant first amazing no and fun to built/paint. It is a monster on the table and really is a great model.

I just received my harridan today, the kit looks really simple, only 5 main parts, so should be easy to assemble and paint. I have not played or played against one so I don't know how they perform.

If you want a simple kit, I'd go for the harridan. The hierophant has so many little parts, but still was fun to build. That's my opinions anyway.

I'm voting harridan. Purely out of selfish curiosity because i want to hear how they do in an actual game. There are plenty of heirophants out there...and I've seen a few battle reports for them...but I've never heard how a harridan performs...especially with the new flyer rules...

I know 'officially', the Titan/Harridan are Apocalypse-legal, but are they usable in Warhammer? ie: will they completely break the game or not? Assuming a friendly where we agree to allow ForgeWorld, does that include the Apocalypse miniatures?

For a small non-apocalypse game? I'd have to say they would probably break it...unless you and a friend just want to mess around and see how the unit plays... You could always do something like let them field 25-50% more points just to kind of give them better odds. I don't have the book handy...but if i remember...the heirophant deals out a he'll of a lot of damage in large blast templates...and is really durable to anything except very heavy weapons...

I think the Harridan looks way cooler, however, the Heirophant is pretty epic too. I chose Harrian, purely 'cause it means I can make more Gargoyles!

I'd forget all the rules amd whatnot, if you're shelling out that much cash just get whichever model makes you drool more. You're gonna spend a lot of time painting it so enjoy it as much as you can!!!!

It's even at the moment... I like them both!

What I've decided is that (to make shipping free and in-for-a-penny...) if I get the Harridan, I'll also get a Scythed Hierodule, because it makes a neat 1500 points. If I get the Hierophant, I will also get a Barbed 'dule, because (please do not swear) points.

I would go with the Harridan/Scythed Hierodule combo then. I personaly would love to see a Harridan put on a taller base to really make it look like it's flying over the battlefield, casting a gargantuan shadow over the scurrying prey. Ooh! Toss gargoyles on the base flapping around the Harridan, that'd be sweet!!!

I had to have both... just saying, but I started with the Hierophant first. It's just too cool. However, it's a pain to assemble. Either way you're going to be happy...

Nah, haven't got any PM...

I personally think I'm leaning Hierophant... I like painting little scales and details, and the Harridan seems more big chunks of carapace, whereas the 'phant is full of niggly bits... I'll see what happens!

I think the Hierophant is an all around badass monster. He seems more straightforward, just walking about shooting his weapons. It's simple, and that appeals to me in terms of a good unit to use. Plus he looks more at home standing over your army, than does a Harridan flying over it.

Afternoon, I am close to finishing the monstrosity of a walker and I will have to say kit wise you get a lot more detail on him then you get with the flyer. The harridan kit I have is a lot of very flat surfaces. That's why I picked it as my second project and not my first.

Just my two cents either will rock your socks. Seen the harridan with the new rules and until they give him sky fire he gets in trouble in aa fights against lacking aa he stops the table. Walker I have run a "kill a bio-Titan" campaign he got up to 2250 points before someone could drop him with a regular 40k army.

I e-mailed forge wold about the no AA thing and they said to treat the Hardin as a super-heavy flyer in every respect wile its flying including for sky fire purposes. I can falward the email to any one who wants it or just post what they said...
