tervigon plus gate of infinity

Can a tervigon gate and then after gate spawn?.

Further, of course, is the reason I say it cannot. It cant move further without having moved, and you can only spawn before you move.

for the shooting deep striking units count as having moved.
so deep striking counts as moving

But it's still pretty cool to spawn and then jump ahead of the terms since they always seem to get away in the assault phase.

I did a casual glance and didnt see it. The search doesnt go back far enough.


The jist of the issue is.

Gate is a blessing that goes at the start of movement phase. It states you DS in. The DS rule states that you cannot move further except to disembark from a transport.

Spawning occurs before the Tervigon's move.

The debate is whether the "cannot move further" during movement = Tervigon does not get a movement phase.

Definition of move is to pass from one place to another. If the Tervigon uses gate does it move? I would say Yes.

Can a Tervigon spawn after it has moved? I would say No.

I wont be able to find the thread again, I just posted on it extensively.

The whole idea of the argument was that Gateway was done before anything else, and therefore before even the tervigons move. The rules also dont say that the unit moved, only that it can move no further.

It was a 3 page thread. One that I dont want to get into again and dont have time to look for.

That wasnt the argument. This isnt shooting, this is an ability that happens before it moves. The argument disregarded suggestions of movement, and used the fact that it never states "they moved"

Spawning works before the movement "phase". That means you have to spawn before you even use any 'movement' abilities, including Psyker powers that Deepstrike the Tervigon.
