Need more explanation of toxin sacs

I have been watching the threads and have seen TS being always recamended, do to the reroll to wound. I have read the posioned section in BRB page 40. It says wounds on a fixed number unless a lower number is needed based off of str of the unit or weapon, and if str is equal to or greater then then they must reroll sucessful saves. either I misunderstand why they are being lauded, or there is somehing I am missing. It sounds to me you if you have a Broodlord with toxin sacs attacking an ork 'Ard Boy you would roll to wound on a 3+ if you failed you wouldn't get the 4+ from the poison. Am I understanding this right?

If you need a 3+ or 2+ to wound, you can reroll a failed wound with TS, which is why people are using TS with MCs as they can reroll all fail to wounds, including 2+.

Where is the referance for that? So I can show my LGS. Otherwise it will be just a take the lowest which is how it was explained to me.

If your strength is equal to or greater than, you use the to wound chart, and get rerolls to wound instead of the fixed number.

It's beneficial against infantry almost 100% across the board with the units who can take it now, but now we add the question- do you need the rerolls to wound on a 2+? Is it worth the cost? That's something to have to consider and decide for yourself.

I personally don't like TS on MC'S. 2+ is usually good enough

Well TS can come in handy on MCs when you keep in mind we aren't the only people who can boost T with psykers. Once a multi W model is T6+, more wounds is better so TS comes ahead of Smash there. I think it's worth putting on atleast one MC for when these scenarios pop up.

I give my Tervigon's Toxin Sacs, makes them scarier in cc and makes people reconsider charging any nearby Termagants. If I have 10 points leftover I'll give my Hive Tyrant or Trygon TS as well.

I normally give my trygon toxin sacs, there's a number of marine/ork biker armies, and nurgle daemon armies where I play, so the reroll comes in handy

^^ This, makes normal 'Gants an actual threat in CC.

I think the 10 points is worth it on most MCs if they are intended to assault.

Well, most MCs wound on 2s, so they're not really needed. But they're handy if you have the points spare.

Pretty useful on Trygons especially, Your already rerolling failed hits. Rerolling falied wounds also gives extra assurance that those hits will be converted to AP2 wounds. For the point cost its a complete bargain.

Termagant units within 6" of a Tervigon with Adrenal Glands and/or Toxin Sacs count as having the upgrades as well, which can be useful if your Tervigons are getting into assault range.

Plus, rerolling a 2+ means 16.7% (relative) more wounds - 97.2% of hits will wound with TS, vs 83.3%.

I like putting it on my Rippers, that way vs anything T3 I'm always getting the reroll (and wounding on a 3+ on the charge). It makes them sick and awesome!
