Hey all,
the army list I am currently trying to establish as my all-purpose-tournament-list has a warrior unit of 7 in. They will outflank and have deathspitters and crushing claws.
I am now trying to figure out the REAL threat from S8 weapons and S8-templates. With REAL I am not talking about Mathhammer. REAL means in a game with a powerful but not anti-tyranid or anti-Warrior list. What are your experiences? Will these tactics help?
Spreading out
Very important is the 4 cm diameter of a base. This means, that, in a loose formation, max. 2 warriors can be hit. Is such a formation realistic? In my opinion spreading out 7 warriors should be difficult and might bring some of the warriors out of shooting range.
Defensive play
Facing unusual high density of S8? A unit of warriors with distance to the hot spots should be safe and get into the game in the late phase (Turn 4). Do not fear losses then. You only have to ensure one will survive to hold an objective marker in the end of the game. Of course not very effective to keep an expensive unit in the back and not taking part in the fight but better than nothing.
The list I am talking about (sorry if you have seen it before on tth, I am spamming it )
