Who Won?

We were keeping score for a while, then a couple of people had to leave because it was getting late. It was a very close game per the scorecards, but I think the Tyranids may have pulled out a last minute upset.

Necrons were on team Disorder and yes, like Harridan. It flew on the board, shot down a Vendetta, then had all those Doom Scythes fly up its rear and shoot it down.

Same for the Hierophant... The Deathmarks and Royal Court took him down in one round of shooting. They literally brought me a bucket of dice to roll for each ones saves.

Deathmarks brought down a heirophant? Anything with a set value wounding only wounds on 6s. Thats a rule for all GCs.

Looks pretty good. Seems to be some custom units. The Alien model and the Three legged imperium thing with two cannons. What were they run as? The lack also does not seem to like the camera, its hard to tell what is what on some of the maps.

Deatmarks have a rule which means they can select an enemy unit for the game, and they'l always wound on 2+ against that unit.

The Deathmark thing is pretty annoying. I read the rules and argued against it for a minute, but didn't want to get into a debate during the game. I feel like it should be FAQ'd and I sent a letter to ForgeWorld. Who knows...

The Alien model was the Tyranid Dominatrix and I posted up the data sheet in the General Section.

The Walker was the Tau SAW (Super Assault Walker) from Chapterhouse studios. The rules for it are a little out dated and we are working on an updated ruleset for it to bring it in line with 6th Edition.

Sure, deathmarks wound on 2+ and anyone doing that on a gargantuan will still wound on 6s as per the rules, so doing it VS a hierophant is pretty useless...

Deathmarks cant use that ability on GCs. Even if it was wounding on 2+, its still a set value. Any set value wounding then goes to 6s. That you changed it to a different set value from the original 4+ doesnt make it ignore the rule. Venom Blade or Wytchblades are also 2+ to wound, but they still only wound on 6s. The GC rule succeeds everything because it references set value modifiers. Otherwise, every set value modifier besides poison (thats in the BRB) would still work against them, which is not what has been intended or played as since the original apoc had that rule in it.

I knew i had seen the SAW before, i just could not remember where. Its been ages though.
