Do Raveners strike at I1 through cover?

Don't have access to my codex or rule book right now. Trying to think of a new stuff to buy to make a new army. So I am wondering about taking Raveners now before I woudln't give them a 2nd thought. (more because of no price decrease and I finally stopped sulking now )

So there is a debate I see about Raveners assaulting through cover. Since the rules says they are not slowed down by cover or terrian, do they still strike at I1 or do they strike at their normal Initave?

Is so, why? If not why? I am at my dads so no access to rule book or codex.

Im gonna say they are slowed, as "not slowed down by cover or terrain" means they dont have to roll d6 and see how far they go. Im pretty sure the only thing that lets you strike at normal I is still grenades.

Id love to be proved wrong however - love Ravenors!

Well since it says "Not slowed down by cover or terrain" it's really open to interpretation as to whether or not being reduced to initiative 1 is considered being slowed down, I'd say it's one of those things you check with your opponent/tournament organiser beforehand.

Reduction to I1 is based on passing through the terrain. Movement is different. They still go at I1 (which should have been removed with the introduction of overwatch)

Harlequins, however, may have something. Their rule says they ignore terrain entirely. That one may still function, but harlequins can get grenades through the shadowseer anyways.

It's extremely silly, Raveners aren't slowed by terrain, they speed through it like it wasn't even there. Suddenly once they get into combat they remember 'OMG I just ran through a bush back there, I better let the enemy strike at me first because I feel so insecure right now'.


But that's the way it works.

I miss the days when the test was the reason you struck at I1 an that venomthropes made gants overpowered when a tervigon was nearby and the opponent charged them 0.o
