It's too bad my Tau aren't considered an army anymore. It's so sad that they missed out on 5th Ed, but maybe they will get a codex next year?

Tau are Battle Brothers with Eldar though which nabs them Farseers and Runes of Warding. Until their codex changes I can see allied Eldar becoming a staple in Tau armies.

Thing is if youre going purely for psychic defense you dont mind too much if it hampers your own psychic powers- youre not looking to turn a trick, just stop your opponents so that youre list can do whatever it was built to do.

Do the runes of warding work while the farseer is in reserve as well? Also, I think I heard that if you have 2 farseers with runes of warding, you'll have to take psychic tests on 4d6. Is that true?

Runes of Warding don't stack that way as they don't add a D6 to Psychic tests, they specifically say that they are taken on 3D6. As for their working from reserves, I'm not sure but there should probably be something in the FAQ about it.

I have a question - sorry if it was answered somewhere but I haven't seen it.

If you have a brood of 3 zoanthropes each rolls separately on the psychic power tables (or some may keep their codex powers while others trade them in and roll). Now, last edition the 3 zoeys would have to fire on the same target in the shooting phase or all run. How does it work now? If you have each of the three zoeys with different powers (some of which might be malediction, blessing or witchfire can each still use a power even if the targets are different (example one may target itself, the next is a witchfire to target enemy units, etc)?

If they have a warp charge, they can use a psychic power. If they don't they can't. If you use a blessing in the movement phase, that model can't shoot (since zoeys only shoot with psychic powers), but the rest of the brood can fire at will. You still have to follow the normal restrictions on shooting assault weapons (all witchfire shots are assault unless otherwise stated).

TL;DR: zoes still run as one or shoot at the same target. No splitting targets, and blessings/maladictions don't affect your shooting phase.

I am actualy thinking of going down this road. maybe not 9 zoanthropes, but i do like the sound of Flyrants, Broodlords, x3 zoanthropes in pods (can you do that?) and maybe a tervigon (i don't have many gaunts so i dont feild one) but i realy would have liked warriors to be able to switch out their "synapse creature" for a few biomancy/ telepathy powers.
