What we should know about Tyranids with the new...

Non-synapse MC's can go to ground in area terrain for a 3+ cover save, lulz. Kill points aren't that important anymore, but I guess it could be nice when contesting an objective or trying to keep a unit alive inside enemy deployment zone at the end of the game for a victory point.

You can't add a non-infiltrate IC to an Infiltrate squad and still infiltrate.

If you can roll invisibility then you can gain a 4+ cover save in the open. Combine invisibility on anything within venomthrope range and you have a 2+ cover save.

Dude, just use gaze.... challenge the other character,then gaze him.

I also like to think that with the fact that overwatch with template weapons autohits D3 times, that the strangleweb guns are slightly less useless.

Yet still useless.

Regen is not on a 5+. It is still 6+. (except for OOE)
And rotate only works if they don't do 4 wounds in the first place, or can't shoot at you from a different angle.

Question: The Boneswords were never Power Weapons, right? So even though they're AP- weapons now they still ignore armor and cause ID... right?

AFAIK. I will make some one show me the words "power weapon" in my codex to prove otherwise.

Also from what i heard about some of the vehicle rules, when we pen them in cc we do 2 wounds instead of 1? and if they dont move away from us (like if we stop them from being able to) we get to smack them in their assault phase as well.. can anyone confirm? Or was my friend trying to cheer me up a bit trying make our MC's sound even scarier?

It even says that it's when the Tyranid Creature causes wounds in CC not the boneswords specifically.

Am I wrong on this guys? Are our Boneswords now better that silly power/force weapons when it comes to killing 2+Sv models?

Sorry no they can't because they are fearless as listed in their profile.

Regen is not on a 5+. It is still 6+

lent my book to a friend so can't look it up...but I found nothing in the FAQ about it ~> codex over rulebook so still on 6 dammit. Guess i was a little to fast projecting the new Instinctive behavior rewording on this.
Hope this (please do not swear) gets FAQed when the real FAQs come out and not just the update for 6th.

Doesn't matter that much you save the points for reg this way but you still have fexes with 5+ cover 5+ FNP against anything and with 18'' fleshborers you will be able to switch them.

Power Weapon now doesn't mean "ignores armour saves" anymore instead means just you can buy a power weapon which may be an axe, a sword or a mace.

Its a specific weapon (or better 3 of them) not a weapon type anymore.
so BS are exactly as you say close combar Weapons AP - and ignore armour saves.

I like how Tyranids now, more than ever, become the masters of infantry hunting. Some our units are still horrendously overpriced, but I think that the Shell-Tyrant and Flyrant got a significant boost. Not surprising, seeing as they got a new model. I look forward to trying out the Harpy, whenever a kit is released. Its firepower is not impressive, but the ability to tie up units in cover is very cool.

I just don't want it to like like a Trygon with wings.

Double posting for no particular reason. I figured that we have enough threads about 6th Edition, so here come some questions:

I don't have my codex near me right now, but looking through the recent FAQ I don't see Synapse being equal to Fearless, even if it has the same effect. In other words, unless I'm forgetting something, I don't see why our units would be able to go to ground. The obvious exception being our MC's, but they couldn't do it in 5th Edition, anyway.

Bleergh, I was wrong. No cover bonus for the unstoppable horde.

Just under synapse rule, I'm pretty sure it makes us fearless, which now ignores pinning, moral checks, fear and units can not go to ground. Also we can not voluntary choose to fall back from a combat we can not hurt the enemy in (ST raveners against walkers)

...that's kind of like, the opposite of what synapse is supposed to represent, from a fluff standpoint. but ok.

You are indeed correct. I guess all hope is not lost in this case, seeing as Synapse coverage becomes more of a tactical consideration in this edition. I imagine some Hormagaunts being pointed in the direction of a bunch of Guardsmen, eating them through the beneficial Rage-bonus and then getting Troll-charged by a Sentinel.

Completely unrelated: Blood Angels Death Company are now INSANE! With no stupid Rage to kite them around, they'll probably see more use. With Jump Packs even!

The smash attack also allows you to re-roll the armour pen value, so losing half your attacks isn't bad. Plus you halve your attacks and then round up, so a Trygon gets 4 S10 attacks which reroll hits and armour pens.

As some clever person pointed out.... Smash halves your Attack Characteristic, *not* your attacks. So Trygon has 4 attacks, if raging will get 6 on the charge.
With Smash and Rage, that would be 4 on the charge.
A fex goes from 4 to 2 base, but then can add d3 from Claws, and another 1-2 from charge, etc.

I was going to ask about that. If a model with crushing claws smashes something in CC, at which point do you gain the +D3 attacks? As stated earlier smash only affects their characteristic value, therefore 2 A base + D3 from CCs and + 1 on the charge, and then +2 if it has rage? Indulge me, going to get the book in an hour or so.
