The "beta" version of the bots to Team fortress 2, of which you could enable with their developer console, had a range of funny names for their bots, like:
"Head full of eye balls" or "Tiny baby man" and then of course one of them was: Totally not a bot.

A little while after the "Bot Beta", bots where enabled on servers as well, and I found it quite amusing to name myself after the,"Totally not a bot," bot.
People got quite confused because, they thought that they were constantly killed by a bot... And the bots back then were pretty stupid. (Perhaps they still are today, I don't know).

It was also quite amusing to see what people wrote in the "Chat," like:
- Have they put the bots on hardcore mode?
- WTF, is that actually a bot?
- Bots are OP!

(Yes, I once really rocked at that game xD)

I also used to play a lot back then with a friend of mine and my brother, who later took the names, "Actually not a bot" and "Obviously not a bot."
Together we pwned everyone as the combat medic bot team.

Too bad Valve removed the "Totally not a bot," name from their bots of some reason.

I mainly listen to pre-1990 music, and it's mainly rock music.
I came up with the name in 2005ish when I was trying to work out which social subculture I fitted into (goth, chav, what have you) and I decided that I didn't so I made up my own name for what I was (like it's really important to have labels, jeez- well I was 16), and I've been using it for pretty much all my online user names since. I made my own distinctive RR logo for myself at about the same time on MSPaint and have been using that for years, too.
However obviously for this site I used something more Tyranid-y

well i have been using the handle deadman564 and 1deadcop on a lot of forums and has been my gamer tag since 2003. deadman564 coming from one of my favorite comicbook heroes, deadman. but 1deadcop comes from a song, its from the band LOC (left-over Crack).

I always ass out when I try to think of names for forums, xboxlive, the MUD I used to play and my brief stint on WOW.

I was staring at the computer and was trying to think of something...something tyranid related...something short...something tyraniddy, not quite right, something niddy, a little better....something nidzy and I am tired of thinking about it, there you go.

I stopped apologizing for my lameness like 10 years ago, so please get over it.

Well those of you who know me know this is my second hive account since I deleted the last one figuring I'd never be back. My first one went by the name Mina. (Based off the character from the Amber and Ashes series. It also was the name of a very important character to me on a MUD I played for 2 years.)

Namine is very clearly the kingdom hearts character, but I like her because she looks like I did when I was little. I also like that she is always drawing.

Other than that, I only used these names because the name I usually use, Misty/variants were taken. I use Mistee because my father calls me that as a pet name after the Misty ponies. (I love it as my pet name and am so delighted that almost all my online friends know me as Mistee.)
