So, I have a terrible affliction of the mind guys. Since I never EVER get to play 40K, I'm rapidly loosing interest in the hobby! I've consulted my GP, and he recommended the best remedy is to get the next best thing. BATTLE REPORTS!
Which brings us to the competition: Take some pictures of your games of 40K, the more interesting the better. Then, when you get back to the computer, you can write a neat narrative to go with the pics. You don't have to come up with a detailed back story, even a simple battle report with a few names given to special models and a neat scenario (with interesting wrighting) would be acceptable. Photoshop (digitally editing the image) is also aloud, but don't go over the top (drawing on muzzle flash and smoke and such is fine, but don't go over the top with blood or anything).
Alternatively, you could just set up some mini's in dynamic situations, take pics and wright a story. The same rules for digital editing still apply.
An example of a good storey might be:
A bad example of the same scenario would look like this:
It doesn't take much effort, but the results are certainly worth the extra 2 minutes.
So yeah, nock yourselves out, go nuts and at the end of april we'll get a poll ready if enough people are interested (enter as many times as you like).

Realizing that Sergent Percy's assault squad was too busy with the stormboyz to assist the scouts, Captain Andreas called for reinforcements. his plee did not go unheard with a bike squad beind diverted from rearguard to take out the mob of boyz taking potshots at the exposed recruits.
A bad example of the same scenario would look like this:
The assault squad continued combat with the stormboyz. A squad of bikers rode onto the field to take care of the unit of boyz who had opened fire on a unit of scouts who had been left out of cover.
It doesn't take much effort, but the results are certainly worth the extra 2 minutes.
