New 5th ed. Rules?

Anyone taken a look at them? Obviously they may change before release, but so far there's some nasty stuff happening. Cover can be shot through, just giving a cover save to the target. Models in CC can be removed any way the player wants, meaning no more "kill-zones" being cleared if they come off the back. Any model within 2" of a model in B2B is now able to attack in CC, extending the range a bit. And the vehicle damage charts are now condensed into one chart, with things like Glancing or Open-topped giving + or - to the damage roll.

Opinions? Comments? Screams of horror?

I'd post the rules once I get my own copy downloaded.

The model within 2" of a b2b contact thing isn't new, I thought that's how it works currently. Yeah, there's threads all over here about the new rules, people have speculated for ages. I reckon we should wait and see what's in them, there's bound to be some bonuses for us nids to balance things out.

I didn't see any other 5th ed threads at the time of posting, my bad. I can only hope that we'll be balanced as opposed to nerfed, or put through a vanilla filter like poor Chaos.

They're all tucked away in other pages, they be a bit old, but not your fault. Yeah, the rending nerf and new vehicle table is what really gets us the most, but we'll have to wait and see.
On a side note, there's rumours that they're releasing a codex of various chaos legions at some point - a codex with rules in for Iron Warriors, Night Lords and all those fellas. I should hunt down more on this, but I'm not too sure, it's pretty weak as far as rumours go.

Yeah the whole removing casualties from anywhere in the unit has me shuddering. Granted it could help us some, but not as much as say the orks.

Power fists are a bit nerfed too, in that they have to be paired with another for an extra attack.
Force weapons will no longer be argued either (finally).

Still up in the air, I haven't personally tried out the leaked rules. So I'm waiting till it actually comes out. Hopefully they don't screw over the tyranids too much...

I've been using them since my usual opponent has latched on to them. Yes, he plays Orks, and yes, even he agrees that they've got a power advantage against us at this point. Without clearing a killzone, it's neigh impossible to remove a large boyz squad before that damned nob with PK cuts my 'fex open like a fleshy tin can. Ditto to a nob squad with huge choppas.

I've yet to face anything else on the new rules, but Blood Angels and IG should be coming up in some games, so I'll post how that goes.
