I have said before that I did not mean any offense, but because comments have continued after i made that statement, here is a bit of proof as to why I say what I do.
Now, I live in America and am discussing this with people in England, i am not familiar with the prices of competitors in England, In America, my statements are fact not heresay.
Look at the prices on these models, kits at the same scale, just as detailed, with FAR more sprues inside the box, therefore more details and "cost (mine came with 8 sprues). Apparently the cost of producing models is cheaper in the united States. The same local hobby stores i can buy these at (same cost at three in the LA area) also hold tournaments, painting contests, you name it. Can weplease stop trying to claim GW prices are not inflated? They absolutely have the right, they put out a very good set of minitures and a fun game, but their prices are NOT equitable to what is available in the area I live in.I love their plastic infantry, I love the flexibility of puttingthem togethor and modeling, I get very tired of price claims. I have friend who designs sprues for plastic airplane kits, all of the cost in a plastic extrusion mold process is initial creation of the mold. The penny per model claim in America using the techniques his company uses, is absolute BS.

Compare these prices to a vindicator, running at around 50$. The cost to produce these models is identical to a vindicator, orland raider, or leman rus etc. . so you can clearly see the mark up for GW models is 2-3 times.
I understand loyalty to a company, and applaud it, being blind to reality or flat out dishonest about claims is another entirely.
If, in england all model and miniature makers on on the same price scale as GW i understand completely and ignore this post please, I also feel for you guys over there, as i built 90% of my wood elf army from other miniature manufacturere (yes yes I know, not legal at a tournament) using models I feel are for the most part better than GW's line (yes that is pure opinion, but in my wood elf army only one opinion matters) for less than 1/3 the cost I would have paid using GW products, I did a complete price check before ordering. This does not mean I "hate" GW, in fact i still ordered their dryads because I liked it better than any alternative, as well as their eagle and warhawk riders.
Arguing that GW prices are not at the high end of the spectrum simply amazes me, given the area I live in.
Ok off my soap box. . .
