Hello All Roleplayers! Your friendly neighboorhood Jaka here to quickly adress a problem I have noticed growing over the last few weeks.
Now I don't know how many of you remember the rp board war, but it happenes. It happened because posts got too short, because the stories got to be obvious, characters too powerful, and hard to follow. When the trolls came they won. For awhile the board was as lifeless as Spock staring at his black and white optical illusion. Then life began a new;The Owl (as he is known now) and a few dedicated,fresh faces(Blood Gen, Jward,Virado) helped to regrow the board with not only longer posts, but stories that had feeling and emotion in them, stories that built on old rps and stories that started gave birth to new adventures. Old roleplayers like Father Nurgle and Death Blade returned. It was great, really I enjoyed logging on every morning with my cereal to see what had happened while I was asleep.
But once again like the economy we are in a downward spiral. I see sentence posts, I see hard to understand posts, and (dang it all) I see characters with little weakness to them. I watch the very dedicated rp'ers ignore the less dedicated one's posts. The difference is, this time I hope it won't take Danger and Fungus's crew to make us see the light. I am not devoid of blame, I have also lowered from the standard we should set.
So I am challenging those of you who were there and those of you who heard the stories, get back to what we were. Don't feel like you are putting me out with 6 paragraphs of writing, 3 of which describe your character's feelings. I eat it up, and a lot of you do too. We are writing a story, not composing a Haiku. If you want to spend 3 sentences on the color of your eyes wth I'll read it and probably enjoy it like a fat kid and candy.
I realize not all of you have the time to write a page worth of material, and that those of us who do often move to fast. If I knew that would have to slow down and I would get a nice really long post out of it... you'd be stunned how long you could take.
And characters, I hate to say it. But a lot of them have become alike. For me to name a few rp's that are going on right I don't care a whole lot about any of the character's in left 4 dead. How could I? They lack any sort of emotion or personality. Some of this is the fighting for your life setting, but anyone who has played the games knows and likes the characters. So what's missing from those characters? They need to have emotional responses, if you read the old L4D rps you will see piles of emotion. Is there fighting yes... one nice way to get some thoughts in there is ask yourself what is my character feeling... it seems stupid but trust me, killing is not something that is natural or pretty. Fields of Ivallia is fine, it just needs longer posts. Those characters are developed, that was probably one of the last rp's that was very good. Now onto Nightmares. The concept is cool, the storyline loose, but the new guys got ignored, they don't post anymore. Because they walked into a scenario where a lot of characters had past relationships and they did not. We should have made them feel welcome, one of the crew, not ignored and barely read their posts. And I'm sorry, but Harry dies... and the only one who really reacted was Owl and me. The leader, friend, of more than half the charactes dies.. yeah nope sorry (please do not swear) you Harry. Matty gets taken.. and yeah everyone freaks out... it would be perfectly fine.... if Harry had gotten any kind of a send off.
I know we can all get back to the days of War in the Warp and pretty much any rp Nurgle has been in. We can do it, summer shouldn't make it harder but easier.. So if we can why not.
I don't think I mentioned this before, but I watch the Hive very closely, particularly the rp board. And I noticed that we aren't the only ones reading what is there. The times read are too high, and the number of viewers at one time is also too high. People were taking notice. But since our posts got smaller and less interesting I have noticed a decline in other users reading. We weren't a secluded little group, others read, I think it would be amazing if other's participated.
So to back up my theory that having really old characters is causing this, I propose to Jward and Owl that by the time Nightmares ends Matty, Kes's Unborn Child, Neji, Korvus, Banshee, Midnight, and Magnus be the only playable characters. The others don't have to die, but their stories could be wrapped up. Solara could finally decide who to marry, (that would take out whoever she chooses, leaving one left.) Kes will be gone, she is going to commit suicide by the end that is a fact.
If we go with this plan, it means we absolutely must give our beloved characters epic send offs. Amazing posts, a lovely Epilogue; Brand them into the history of the board, and then open it up to new characters, new ideas, and hopefully if we get the post lengths up... NEW PEOPLE!!
No one has to agree, all this is volutary, I can't force you to do better. I can only ask for it. No matter what happens I will stay here and rp. My interest and hope for the board won't change because I spent 2 frikin weeks in a message and board war. I might as well reap the benefits of my labor. (But if I could have my choice between Silver and Gold... well I'd like Platinum.)

) and some negative ones. My characters personalities (77, Draen, Crotios, even Akara) are all based of a certain characteristic of me/a friend of mine (Ex. Draen in the left for dead RP. Im sorry if you get bit/infected, you can A-Blow self up with explosive taking undead with you (My personal choice), B-Have a friend kill you as a sign of mercy, or C-Get killed as a "safety measure". Granted my posts were before i knew there was a cure, but to keep consistant i had to stay an (please do not swear)) this is the way it is. I do find that my characters (Crotios) have to be strong enough that they can't be murdered without my knowing (77/Dawn/Dariun). But i will try harder :3 i do try to leave hints like, "Attacking Dariun will cause him to go more daemon, but i couldnt just say it. sometimes peoples need to fight just kick in 
And maybe it's my fault for bugging you and getting you hooked on LoL.
