I don't know how far I'd go with genius. Don't get me wrong I love me some Monty Python but have you ever tried to sit down with all 4 seasons of Flying Circus? We have the benefit of time, the cream has risen to the top. There are some dreadfully boring skits.

That said "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" is up there with Hakuna Matata for best pick-me-up songs ever.

I had to google that one. I'm not entirely sure if you're being sarcastic either. I have started watching significantly more BBC America recently though. They seem to have picked up the pieces after SyFy abandoned us nerds.

Sci-fi is owned by NBC, they are competing with themselves and Friday became Monday, that's why Stargate Universe really died out and not sure about Sanctuary.

Allo Allo, is about a show in the 70's or 80's making fun of a comedy the creator did called secret army and is taking place in France as a pov of the resistance. They have a picture called "The fallen Madonna with the big boobies by Van Clomp".

There is another show John Cleese did called "Faulty Towers", look into that one.

If you watch Monty Python and remember that generally you have to sit through 20 minutes of poor to average skits for that one utterly brilliant sketch it does become slightly easier to sit through. Much like the English version of Little Britian (the American series was just damned awful from beginning to end and had no redeeming features at all!)

I like to think of the boring ones as like intermissions and smoke breaks, it makes them a whole lot more bearable.

And mentioning Rowan means you have to try Mr. Bean as well (though I find Mr. Beam somewhat of an acquired taste; mostly amusing, but sometimes not funny to all - the movie was ok till that singalong ending thing...)
