My sister was at my dad's house the week I had my test, so I coudln't ask her. My mother helped me as best she could but I still had a couple questions, I had been trying for several days to fix my understanding of this stuff for the test, and I had been struggling, when I finally felt I was getting it and only had a couple more small things to worry about and I would be 100% ready to go, I was sure to hurry to class early after I got off the bus and ask my question, she didn't NEED to pass out the test early, but I NEEDED my questions answered, most everybody finished the test with at least a few minutes to spare anyway, so passing it out early was not necessary, whereas answering my quick couple of questions WAS. the othe rkids that got there before me got their questions answered, but when she was done with them she passed out the test early, before class started instead of using those last few minutes to help the last student that needed help. Again, the time she spent passing out the test early (something she didn't need to do), she could have helped me (something that was actually needed). The teacher's book had the answers, but not HOW TO GET THOSE ANSWERS, what good is knowing you were wrong if you don't know WHY you were wrong so you aren't wrong the next time?! My copy of the texbook did not have answers for that particular page, and the examples is says to look at, which are in the book, rarely, if ever, actually match the problem because whoeevr wrote the textbook is an idiot.

Let me sum up your post for those who thing it's too long. Excuse. The world revolves around me. Screw the other kids, they aren't me. Whine. Did I mention we should screw the other kids because they aren't me? Complain because answers were given to me on a silver platter. More whining. That's exactly how I read your posts on the subject. You claim that you NEEDED help (with capitol letters no less); then why did you wait until just ten minutes before the test to get help? You had at least a week to ask for help! You had plenty of time to get the help you needed. Those few people who went to time on the test needed those 5 extra minutes and could only get it before class. This argument that since most people completed the test on time they didn't need the extra time doesn't hold water. Most of the people in the class didn't need the teacher to go over your problem, so by your logic she shouldn't have answered your question anyway. People seem to have an unrealistic expectation for teachers. She has what 25 people in her class? If everyone got equal time before class with the teacher you'd have 24 seconds with the teacher (that's 10 minutes before class with 25 students). She simply cannot answer every question you have the moment you want her to. She has to do what helps the most amount of students in the least amount of time. In this case it was starting the test early so that everyone had a better chance of finishing the test. I don't know what else to say. If you can't figure out that there are more people in the class than just you then noting I say will get through to you. You know what grinds my gears; people with a me, me, me attitude complaining that other people are getting help.

I DID get help earlier in the week! I studied for hours to get ready for this! I had like 2 questions that would have taken 5 minutes to answer, all the other kids finished the test with at least a good ten minutes left over at the end of class, therefor passing out the test early was not necessary. This wouldn't bother me as much if every single time I have asked a question in this class I get blown off. The whole year this sort of (please do not swear) has happened, I ask a question during class and I get blown off or her answer is more confusing, she says come in after school for help, I am an athlete in track, I don't have time for that! She didn't need to pass out the test early, she needed to answer my question. if you can't understand that i guess we'll have to agree to disagree. *edit: one thing of note is that my mom (a teacher), my grandparents, and every.other person my mother has discussed this with (including other teachers) agree she should've helped me.

So my parents found out about my boyfriend, and thus the fact I do not like people of the opposite sex. It gave me a speech about how this kind of thing is ok, which was kinda ruined how my dad proceeded to ban homosexuality from being committed in his house before leaving. Mum asked me some rather personal questions such as "Have you had sex yet?" which I feel wouldn't have been mentioned if I were in a straight relationship. But you know, the embarrassment of such a subject being put aside, and not mentioning the fact it was pushed at so hard, I think the worst part is how disappointed they seem. My dads also become really passive aggressive. Its strange though, since I've never really put much into family. Oh well, most important thing is I still get to see my boyfriend and the fact I still get to live somewhere is nice. I just always thought it would go differently I guess. Sorry for interrupting whatever was going on. This sucks I'm sorry things didn't go so well with your parents. The same thing happened to me when i inadvertently came out to my mom: No raging/kicking me out of the house, but she instead went into some WAAAY to personal questions. I guess she just didn't know what to say, since i come from a very religious family. (i've hidden it from my dad still out of sheer terror haha). Maybe things will start to improve with your dad once a little time passes. The feeling that your parents are disappointed in you is the worst, sorry you feel that way. Hope you can reconcile with your parents, my relationship with mine is a little tense as well. Good for you for immediately listing two positive things, i think thats really cool. And if your dad can't see virtues like that just because he doesn't agree with your lifestyle, honestly, its his loss. PM me if you want to talk, im socially awkward haha but im in a similar situation.

I'm just going to say this: ADHD effing sucks. You've got a bunch of people that believe it's fake, a sub group that believe it's a government conspiracy, and people that look at you and figure you're just a lazy arsehole hoping for an excuse. On TOP of that you have to deal with a world that expects you to basically be a pro at everything your brain was literally not designed to do (focus, work on long term projects, scoff at the idea of novelty, be conventional, fit in, have and use a working memory, quash emotions), and every time you mess up, everyone calls you lazy and says you're doing it on purpose.
Because as we all know, you just CHOOSE to forget your keys, it's not like it's possible for someone to have a different kind of brain, it MUST be an excuse.
Dealing with ADHD is HARD ENOUGH, I don't need ignorant arseholes pinning my a-neurotypical brain wiring on me being "lazy".
Also, I'm mad that my ADHD cost me two rare days to work on a research paper due Wednesday...

Xantige; I'm not sure how to express my sympathies without sounding condescending, but I nonetheless can identify myself with what you describe. I have a diagnosis as well, although it is not ADHD. Forming a coherent sentence right now seems impossible, too little sleep recently. Good to see you posting again, anyway.

Forming a coherent sentence right now seems impossible, too little sleep recently. Good to see you posting again, anyway. I can't lie, that was a bit of a jumble! Great to be back though, and so far what you said wasn't condescending. Hope you get/got some rest! Edit: (Didn't want to double post so I'm combining these) I'm an easy going person at work. I don't care if the others slack off and talk a bit, it's just a pizza joint and they're not even 20. But I just want one thing from them: 1) I want them to do that ONE THING they were asked to do before their shift ends. When they don't, it means I have to, and times that by 3-4 people and next thing you know, even though we close at 10:45, the people that close aren't out until 11:45. Is is REALLY that hard to SWEEP? Or Mop? Or just clean up the salad table? Because when we've only got 2 people dealing with the night rush, we don't have time until we're closed. And I'm also sick of some of them whining about not getting paid enough when they try so hard to clock out early or avoid learning the things that would get them better pay, like cooking or doing the closing cash out for drivers. Another Edit: Seems I'm the only one with crud to whine about. But this next thing has me pretty grumpy. My folks had to go up to my grandparents farm just tout of town, so they took our 3 dogs with them. Up there we're got the yard fenced from the road and the fields so the dogs can run loose. Thing is, we've got neighbours literally across the road (like in a city) and they have dogs -- typical farm dogs that just roam free and largely untrained. Sometimes they bark at the gate to our place, and this is bad because our dogs are pretty dominant, stubborn breeds, so occasionally there's a fence fight, but it's nothing more than them running along the gate barking with hackles raised. But see this isn't some proper city gate, this is a freaking cow gate, and if the dogs really had the motivation they could just crawl under the darn thing with some wriggling. Well it just so happened that our dog Scrappy had the bright idea to try getting under the fence with 2 dogs going nuts on the other side, and he got his ear bitten up badly. Apparently there was a lot of blood (I wasn't there). Worst yet, the ear bitten is one that Scrap's has had a lot of issues with, he's a German Shepard mix so he's got this neurotic habit of scratching his one ear until it's almost bloody and he's whimpering. I don't know how this is going to pan out. His ear doesn't look shredded or anything, but I'm not looking forward to him possibly having dog-hate issues. Anyone who's owned shepards knows how quickly they can fixate and escalate, and we just finished training his stand-offishness to dogs a couple years back (A bad habit learned from our other dog who's far more mellow but more growly). I'm also irrationally mad at my folks and the neighbours. I've always hated how our farm neighbours treat dogs like nothing, they've even run their own dogs over in their driveway because they rip in their like maniacs, they don't care if their dogs go missing, they just get more. It's enough to make me wish there were laws against people owning dogs without a written and practical exam and an examination of their home. As for my folks, I'm just mad that one of our dogs has to pay the price because there was no bloody mesh or something to dam up the giant holes in the gate! But no, every time I'd tell them to keep the dogs from the fence, or get some sort of meshing, and run after them myself and wrestle myself between them I'd get shouted at and told to shut up because I'm just overreacting and they'll be fine. Yep, I'm SUCH an overreactor. Two groups of dogs viciously snarling through a fence? PERFECTLY SAFE! What dog would get hurt in THAT situation?

You know what really grinds my gears: Myself being an idiot
On other gear grinders I have a serious dislike for one lecturer whose notes are very badly laid out. And I know it isn't his fault really, but he also had this sentence in his notes: "machines are much independent"

GG: Kind of out there. I had heart surgery just 3 weeks ago and the recovery time is murder! I pretty much just sit all day watching TV. Now that sounds nice at first but trust me, it only takes a few days before you go crazy. Been out of work so no money, bills are starting to stack up, but hopefully I'll see if I feel well enough to start working again next week. Luckily I have a desk job so I don't need to physically DO anything at my job so the whole restriction on movement and lifting objects wont affect me. And hopefully the pain goes away too I have pills and all that but trust me, after this kind of surgery any kind of movement with my chest and/or arms hurts and is stiff! Ehh, heart problems suck :/

Couldn't bend over, couldn't slouch, couldn't twist, couldn't lift anything heavier than 5 pounds, had to be pushed in a wheelchair and I couldn't do stairs alone... heck, couldn't get up or even walk around on my own for most of that time! I went pretty stir crazy and depressed! Try and hang out with friends if you can, and maybe get some model painting in if you're able. Find ways of keeping busy, lots of ways if one starts boring you!

Recently got hit pretty badly by the flu and The Office made for a more enjoyable time spend in bed.

The full recovery time is 2-3 months for total recovery, so not as bad as how your back sounds D: But I can got back to work and star driving after 4 weeks, just cannot lift much, or turn, cannot push/pull my body with my arms since they had to cut through my rib cage and my chest muscles. That wheelchair part sounds bad though, I would hate that! I can walk but I get winded extremely easily and have to sit a lot. I wish I could paint! my arm movement is limited, and I have a hard time focusing so painting is out of the question :/ But I hang/chat with friends so there is that GG: Kind of out there. Thanks, I hope to feel better soon too xD And it is intense, I had a metal valve put in due to mine ripping. This is actually my third, and hopefully last heart surgery, the doctor was really hopeful that this will fix my heart problem. I've been watching TV and some Anime, found a few good series, they really do help. Since I can't play games due to unable to focus I'm glad for Netflix and Crunchyroll.

killercroc - yeah it was pretty bad, but I'm better for it. Nothing really hurts like that year hurt. Sorry to hear this is your third surgery! Hope it's the last! If you're big into a wargame, now might be a good time to reread the rules and fluff though! or have movie marathons! At least if you can work a bit you won't be as bored to tears as i was!

GG: I somehow pulled the muscles in my pectoral area for my right arm, so now my right arm is pretty much useless. Cannot raise it above my shoulder, and rotation is limited, plus every time I clear my throat or cough it feels like someone is stabbing me in the chest with a knife... *sigh* and here I thought I was healing nicely. Plus I'm right handed so, that sucks more right there :/
