A short rant on ignorance.

I looked on you-tube. I wanted to see how many videos of really close minded people there are. What is weird was that I expected to find hundreds of thousands of videos on how gay people should die and that they will go to hell, blah blah blah.

I couldn't find any...

Ever single video I found was a sarcastic comedy on how dumb people are.

So, i continued just to go onto any video with the topic having the words gay/(please do not swear) on the title. Still... nothing.

Here is what i found interesting though. Although there are no videos on this topic, "fags must die" and "God hates gays" comes up in every single video...

I actually learned a lot about the Christian belief system though my search. My favorite video being a clip from west wing entitled "Thing Homosexuality is wrong?"

Anyway, back onto my rant. Why do people hate us? I ask you my peers who I talk to about warhammer every day. It seems so... weird. What does it matter who i like... And why can't people believe that for most of us, it isn't something we chose. That, just like straight guys look at guys and have never seen more than friends, that the same can be said about us, but with girls. Why is that so fing hard to believe?

And I wonder something. Do these people just go onto these videos to say this (please do not swear)? One of the 10 commandments is to not kill... yet in almost all "rules" that the bible have in them... it is to put people to death. If a woman wears cloths made of more than one type of thread, she should be burned in a small family gathering. You are unclean if you touch the skin of a dead pig. Well, there goes football doesn't it? And slavery is morally right, where homosexuality is not. How does that work?

Now you may be thinking, "Well you can't just take quotes from the bible and think that they should still apply in todays society"... what do you think Leviticus 18.22. is? You are pulling a specific passage out of the bible and justifying something you don't understand.

People ask why one has to be so open about their sexuality. My grandma in particular says she doesn't know why they have to be out there all the time. I LAUGH SO FREAKING HARD!!! If she says, "Your grandpa and i don't go flaunting that we are straight"... then just think about what she just said. She not only openly said she was straight, but she admitted to having a relationship at least once in her life. If gay people do it, they are flaunting it, where as if straight people do it, it is considered "normal"

Which brings me to my next point... The words we use for describing gays vs straight are radically different. Where we talk about relationships for straight people, we talk about sex for gay people... where we say straight people have lives, gay people have lifestyles. Straight people have a moral vision and gay people have an agenda. So much is wrong with the way that it is said... so very much. The words you use change the meaning.

All people think gay relationships are is sex. It annoys me. How, save our gentiles, is a gay relationship different than a straight one? Past what people think because of peers telling gay jokes (which are 99.999% of the time about sex) what is different between liking a guy and liking a girl?

It is unnatural maybe? Animals aren't gay. it must be unnatural.

1) If we start getting out moral standards from animals... we have bigger things to worry about.
2) Animals DO in fact have homosexual relations. It is not common... but neither is gay in humans now is it?

Homosexuality causes AIDS? No... a virus does... you get it from straight *and* gay relationships... and sometimes, from interactions that are not sexual at all!

So I ask you. What is wrong with being gay? I have seen so many comments on things related at all to homosexuality, and i honestly want to know what makes the hate of us... comments?

I am for gay marriage, against 'don't ask don't tell' and am in complete support for the homosexual community, although I'm straight myself. The reason people don't like gays is rather simple: the main stream thought until recently has rubbed up against the Judao-Christian religious culture. What should that matter?

Not Bible bashing but that's why the hate. You said it yourself. This quote is repeated again and again and again.

I do find those who identify themselves as homosexual a little dumb - if you want to be accepted and for it not to be a big deal than don't make a big deal out of it. Other than that I have no problem with a couple of the same gender kissing in public as much as I have with heterosexual partners doing so. There is a big difference between flaunting it and saying you're gay. I've had a guy ask me out, he certainly didn't flaunt it. I have a friend who casually refers to her girlfriend as any other person would refer to their partner, that isn't flaunting it. There are people, however, who DO make a huge fuss about the fact they are homosexual stopping just before the point of them proclaiming themselves with every step down the street (This doesn't not refer to the Sydney Mardi Gras which is party/raising awareness).

I haven't encountered the division you describe between the descriptions between gays and straights, although i don't doubt they exist. Though I guess the idea that gays have sex with everything could be an example of that is something that would nullify what I said. When guys are in a room and, not being accustomed to homosexuals, realize a gay is there too there are instant 'don't drop your wallet' jokes. It should be said that that gay is very much lie them except that they like other men, do straight guys root every chick when she bends over? (well yes but that's called rαpe, which I guess is another distinction made by people)

Animals have shown signs of homosexuality in the wild. It appears to be a trait spread throught many species of placental mammals. I know a dog that is an alpha male and doesn't root other dogs for domination, It has had every opportunity to be with a not of biτches and has not shown interest in any of them. And the dog rooting is actual rooting, not just dominating behavior. There have been cases of dolphins showing similar behavior, lions, chimpanzees. It isn't unnatural at all (and if it is, god is also outside of nature in which i could only conclude to Evangelical fundamentalists that homosexuality shares a trait with gos thus god is a hypocrite).

Nothing is wrong with being gay. If someone tells you it's a choice look them in the eye and tell them "Why would I choose a life which society dictates is wrong and I will be ridiculed for?"

That, Now sure you may have gotten a bit of ideas and facts and things. But people on youtube are not theologists or priests or pastors. They are your average Joe who has his own opinions.

We found out in a previous thread that you hate your life and it sucks and you can't deal with it, So could you possibly be writing stuff all over the internet to gain the attention you crave from your lifestyle? A. Since its basically good bussiness. If your country/religion/company/whatever is in trouble its often easier to put the blame on some minority than where it belongs (i.e on your self)

For example, say that your countrys soil is packed with diamonds, as the countrys leader you ofcourse keep them all for yourself and force your people to live and die in poverty.

Now, when the people is pissed of and stand outside your pallace and demand a share of the riches or your head its ever so simple to say things like "Some other countries took it", "This is all caused by drugged up children" or the old favourite"The homosexuals did it"

I have 2 pet peeves about my sexuality.

1) People (mostly young men) using the word gay to mean something negative/wrong/bad or unpleasant

2) People (mostly gay men) referring to gay men using female terminology. Nothing makes me want to repeatedly punch someone in the head and then kick their skull in once they are on the floor as "Ooh get her!" or calling me a female dog.

I want ask though, what on earth possessed you to want to look up hate films on you tube? Why do that to yourself? Is this for college work?

I have to kind of agree with Leopold in asking why you posted this on the Hive. I have posted about gay issues on forums before, but it was about how I felt the hobby was quite Homophobic. It didn't go well. I know that we regularly have people posting about their private lives asking for help and advice. I remember guys asking for advice on getting a date, what to do on the date and even one guy looking for help dealing with being dumped. So I can see why you wouldn't have thought there was any reason not to post, I just question what you wanted to achieve?

Having said that, I like to think of myself as a fair minded person who likes to see both sides before making an opinion. So I want to ask what is the point of the guys who come on here and rant about people complaining about our codex... what are they expecting to achieve?

Not entirely sure how this topic is immature? And in my last thread, no where did I say I hated my life. I needed someone to talk to... but had no one. Kind of sad how 2 people can read the same thing and get completely different things out of them.

I wanted to see all of the dumb people ranting about how we should die. I find it funny how illogical their arguments are and how narrow-minded they are. Only once could i actually find one what isn't pro gay. And, that in turn made a lot of people talk about how the posters of the videos (most of whome aren't gay btw) are going to burn.

The question was why people go onto these videos just to leave hateful comments and why people think that gay people are evil save the bible. I am currious. But, as Loplod has pointed out... I guess that is wrong isn't it?

On another note, there was a topic recently on religion on the hive. No one seemed to complain about that.

These things generally have an impact on most people's lives, unlike gay couples. hence why no one is bothering that much with these things.

Loplod beat me to it. Pretty much everything he said was totally bang on. I am not known for sugarcoating my words.

That being said, one of my best friends was homophobic simply because his dad is and it was drilled into his head from a young age. He's fine now, accepts everyone for being everyone.

But, alas, I'm ranting. I couldn't care what sexuality you are. And I don't mean that in the harsh way. I mean it in the sense that you could be a self-convinced dragon-lover for all I care, because I talk to you for the sake of a good chat, not because of anything to do with sexuality.

Still though, if you're looking up hate on the internet (the hate machine), why? Why even bother?

Who said anything about it being untrue? What kind of logic are you using? Read the post thoroughly.

But I will say this, I can't stand it when someone constantly flaunts their sexuality - be it gay or straight.

But fine; I'll answer your questions:

1) Most of the time any kind of football is made of a synthetic material (here anyway) and the term "pigskin" is just like lead in a pencil. There's no lead, it's graphite. Yeah?
2) Slavery is wrong. End of.

In all fairness though, I couldn't care about the Bible. It's a book. And whatever my opinion on that book is, it's still just a book. The local priest of my hometown before I moved into halls was very supportive of gays. Not that I am christian, but either way, you're still "God's child".

You're listening to the loud minority.
Know why the silent majority is silent? Because someone's sexuality doesn't make a difference to them. It's this majority you should start paying attention to.
