I play Nurgle, so am not as familiar with 1k sons as I could be, but their fluff is some of my favorite in the game! Maybe you want to go with some possesed chaos space marines? Generaly very usefull in almost any situation, and the models are great for conversion. Heck your 1k sons, better get a few Chaos Spawns ready for that gift of chaos spell!
My Nurgle army is balanced, 4 squads of 7 plaguemarines, 1 squad of chosen, 2 Dreads. Maybe just more Rubric marines would be a good choice,perhaps one you can buyas chosen with different weapon options and infiltrate?
Good luck and let us know what you do, I am very interested in hearing more about chaos armies since the new codex super simplified them.

When offering criticism, keep in mind:
1. Constructive criticism is usefull if it includes ideas to make it better, if it does not, it is useless.
2. Think carefully about what your saying, if you are really criticising to say "I could do better", don't.
3. Criticism is taken better if the criticiser has done a similiar project.

More men by far. You have too many models that aren't troops that will be big point sinks. I haven't had a good indepth look at the new codex but I think there is some pretty cool stuff you can add in now and still have a fluffy 1k sons army. But as said before, more troops...

K sons fight at range and things like orks, IG and nids' while Arry fights CC and strong armies.
