Iron Mongers: fall of a chapter

A sudden noise wakes her. She realizes it's someone crying and then a few moments later as she freezes in fear she hears hello. She glances at the screen habitually grabbing her cold cup of coffee and taking a sip. Her virus has finally cracked through all the walls. She smiles pleased and stands brushing off her skirt and walking out to meet whoever lives here. " Hello my name is.." She is cut off by Ken slamming her into the wall with pure body mass and she loses her words. He growls at her to state her business before he kills her. She struggles away from him her keen perception noticing the tear streaks, " Yes, sorry about your computer I was bored and thought you might be ummm..." She smiles nervously and starts again, " I am Gabriel... Gabriel Harry. Most people call me Gabe or Gabby." She sees his impatient look as he glares harder and she reaches up rubbing her sleep tossed hair," Harry isn't my last name, just my middle name." His look of anger grows and she takes a step back her boots clicking as she does, " I was.. I was wondering if you .." her sentence comes in fragments as she realizes how large he is, " Do do you know my mother or father? Are you my father or..?" she looks afraid and embarrassed at the same time her cheeks flushed but her skin pale, " Here's a picture of my mom did you know her. Cause a person said that Commander Ken knows her and you are Ken aren't you?" she holds up a crumbled picture of Kes. It has burn marks and looks like it's been held alot, " Look I am sorry to bother you but it would mean a lot to me if you could answer."

ken couldn't move his arms so he looked at the picture and looked as if he was going to die, all color drained from his face when he looked again. "im not your father im more of a brother ish guy.... eh sorry about what just happed, but if you wanna talk about your family i mean our family then just come on into the kitchen and wheal talk." he told her as he walked over to a wall and pushed his arm to it getting a little motion in his arms he sat down and setted his arms on the table. "now tell me what is it you want to know?" he asks gabriel

Gabriel looks breathless for a moment a surge of emotions goes through her and the final one is something close to anger, "Why did she abandon me?" A short life time of anger and pain over that question is obvious on her face. She realizes her hands are shaking and that she's spilled coffee on her shirt. She puts themug down and still standing looks at him, " Who was she anyway?" then a glare comes on her face, " Why did she keep you?" She looks at him, " And my father, where was he all my life?"

ooc: I read that. why have you just made a new character? if you look, I wasn't the one who said the ship took off. I said I started one of the the engines so that we would be ready to take off.

"she didnt keep me!" ken almost shouted but kept his voice down. "she left me... i saw her only once." he looked down having his mind trail off of the last time he saw her he was starting to cry

Bloodfire pokes his head in the room. "Um, ken, there's a..." Seeing their expressions, and cross-referencing them with his files (match result: anger), he decides this isn't the best time. "Never mind..."

OOC: jaka, why get rid of the whole character? she was good. this new one, I don't like. it is an excellent hacker... that kind of makes my character' existence pointless doesn't it?

IC: Tun wasn't sure of the new woman. He had liked Kali, why had they just left her. He had only started the engines ready to take off, but when ken got on board he ordered the ship to take off fully. It seemed that Gabriel was a relation of Ken's. One of the reason's he didn't trust her was the fact that when he got back to his pristine room and computer rig, he found that someone had been trying to crudely hack past the blocks and password codes he had put in place. of course he knew that all attempts were futile, but it worried him that such a person would surely be welcomed into their little band simply because of some shared DNA. After resetting the blocks with ease, he slunk downstairs. In the makeshift food preparation room, Ken and Gabriel talked about their past. Tun absorbed the information without meaning to as he did to all information he encountered. This was partially due to his mind enhancing cortexcoil implants in his brain. They were drinking hot beverages from large cups. He had never understood why people did this unless they were cold and needed warming up (in which case there are better methods) or the drink had some medicinal properties and needed to be heated or the boiling was to rid tainted water of dangerous micro-organisms. After standing outside the room for a few minutes he walked in casually. He looked to a cupboard
"crude and unimaginative" he said to Gabriel, still looking at the cupboard, aloof.
"what?" she replied
"a piece of advice" he said, turning to her, fingers pressed together by tips "you don't try to hack a vanus. you can't. It is my purpose, it is what I was trained since childhood to do. don't underestimate me." He walked out without another word.

Back upstairs he lay in his sleeping alcove, eyes closed but thoughts restless. He had not spoken to 047Galam since he had showed her to her room earlier. He had assumed she was aligning her psychic presence with the space. Maybe she did not realise they would probably be leaving again soon. the good thing about this area was, for her at least, that there was little psychic interference. mostly populated by tau and humans, this planet offered little to block her transmissions, but she did not have a focusing chamber as she had had before. However she did have her crystal web matrix designed to increase the power of her astropathic transmissions.

ooc( who said she was dead, maybe just mia. Maybe she comes back eventually. As for making you obsolete, hell no. She doesn't have connections, she doesn't understand how to find information just how to get through locked doors and locked security codes. Your still the rogue of this party my friend.)

Kali loosk instantly sorry for her words. " I am sorry Ken. I didn't know, I only assumed that..." her sentence trails off a habit she seems to have and then she restarts, " You live so well I thought that she must have given you all this or at least helped." Then it hits Ken like a truck he sees the starved for attention 17 year odld in front of him. He sees the pain etched into her young face by years of hardship. Her slender figure betrays being badly fed growing up. Yet on her face is an ashamed look for having intruded upon his life so brashly. Then Tun interrupts her and points out her lacking abilities and she nod sat him, " Perhaps had I lived a more sheltered life I would have gained your abilities. I am sorry for my crude abilities with machinery, it was enough to keep me alive as a child unlike some that were given everything thanklessly." her tone remains sweet and for a moment Tun feels angry then her tone hits him she is joking sweetly with him and her face has a smile on it despite the truth to her words. Then she turns back to Ken and shrugs, " Thanks I think. I wish I could say that I feel a connection but honestly I don't really know what to feel." The topic is ending he can see that she isn't willing to pressure him so she stands up and looks at him taking her jacket off and removing i.d's and such from it and stuffing them into her skirt pockets, " I know that it doesn't mean much but I think she ment for you to have this." she holds out the jacket and drops it on the table " it was her's." she looks at him and gives a little wave, " I guess I'll be off. If you ever feel there is no one out there in the world who knows your pain, I hope you'll look for me." She turns walking towards the door and then turns and drops a small computer chip on the table ," Tell Tun that while I might have done nothing rather than destroying my virus he could just cure it and then write a better version of it." Then turning she begins to walk away pleased to at least know somethings.

ken stood to his full hight he slammed his palms into the table with a powerful force making them all look at him. "Gabriel, if you are my brother Ryan's child then i will not allow you to leave you will stay with the IM for as long as until you find ryan or kes, that is all now get some sleep." he walked to her slipping to dog tags around her neck her mothers and fathers. he also gave her a holo video when ryan and kes were happy and looked like a family

Ravenous had stayed silent the entire trip. losing an ally was a terrible loss. and with the Iron Mongers already below 10 people, this loss was too much. Ravenous could nothing more, he could not weep for the loss of a squad mate, nor could he go back in time. He just sat in the ship and listened to the ramblings of the big mek who was still on that planet. ordering other orks at an attempt to try to catch the fast shadow hiding dark eldar. Ravenous kept messaging in to the orks to look out for a woman in the forests, but the orks said only he was allowed to live in the wagh's wake.
After landing Ravenous stayed in the ship feeling terrible. He didn't even polish his armor, only ate and drank. After 4 hours of nothing being done Ravenous walked inside and cleaned his armor. very slowly thinking of ways he could have done things differently on the battle field. he had heard talking coming from the dining area and listened in. siblings reunited, and from what he could hear. that new astropath and tun were near. There was great tension within the group, though Ravenous.
After polishing his Armor Ravenous strode off to eat what he could find in the cabinets. as he entered the room he saw a young female, probably 18 to 22 by the looks of it. And there was ken to. before Ravenous didn't care to spend thoughts on ken, but now he held him with an angry stare. He bent down to walk through the door and reached down to a can of food. "we could have stayed longer... Ken" Ravenous said not even looking at who he was talking to. Then he turned "if we had 5 minutes to do a head count, we cold have gotten her from the battle. now the life of a woman is stained upon my hands becuase you had to lift off so soon!" Ravenous was yelling. he had let his anger get the best of him. the can of beans was not crushed effortlessly and dripping on the floor. Ravenous put it on the table in front of ken with force and washed his hands. Without saying a word he shook his head in disappointment and began to walk out. "if you don't watch it girl, Ken will leave you behind to." he said with a venom in his words. and slowly in the morning air, Ravenous walked off the eat at the local bar unit...

(don't forget, i'm the hero of the group and can't take losses of squad mates very well.)

ken looked around at what was left of his squad."it wasn't my call i didn't lift us off i was happy to wait it out something else made us go now if you feel that i left our own behind then go get out and go get her yourself, do i make my self clear!?" he shouted the last word before he left to the bar but a man in what looked like a combat vest with speakers belt into them and a gas mask on stopped him a few miles to the bar they talked and the gas mask man patted kens back sending him off, the man went back to his craft and took off and waited in space

Gabriel feels somewhat controlled and she doesn like that. All these people are strange to her and the vid makes her uncomfortable like an intruder into a family that doesn't belong to her and never will. When ordered to bed she glares at the back of Ken's head before Ravenous comes stomping on in. She quickly leaves the room and after looking about for a room the only one she can find is Kali's. She goes inside but after digging through Kali's possessions she is to creeped out to sleep in there so instead she comes downstairs in the darkness to see ravenous meditating. She shrugs her shoulders and drops her bag on the couch. She begins a few stretches and then takes her sword and dagger out. Then she moves the unoccupied furniture around as quietly as possible which is not at all quiet. Then she begins to practice. Somehow these dances have always helped her think. Even as the blades whirl around her in an intricate pattern she is lost in thought over her life and in particular the last few days. Finally tired out she sheathes her weapons and sits on the couch not bothering to move things back. She stairs at the stoic figure of Ravenous who hasn't moved at all since she began being noisy, " It.. It wasn't your fault. Her being lost." She smiles before closing her eyes.

The morning shines through the broken windows brightly rousing all that it touches. Gabriel opens her eyes and memories of the previous few days come flooding in. Noticing that the others are all gone or still asleep she stands and goes to bathe and dress. She digs through her bag until she finds a change of clothes which takes some effort and when she's done she walks into the kitchen and looks about finding it to be a mess. " Tch! didn't anyone sensible like a girl live here?" she begins to clean and cook breakfast at the same time humming different things to herself. Glancing at the time she realizes it's not that early. With breakfast done and heated for if the lazy bums ever wake up she decides that it won't hurt to take a look around this world. She stomps out of the house making as much noise as possible and begins to stroll down the walk. She finds the bar and steps into it. "You there girly, your new about these parts, shouldn't be here alone." a rather gruff bouncer comments. She turns smiling radiantly, " Why is that? I do love places like this." he stares at her like she is the daftest creature ever seen " you'll find out with that kinda attitude." she shrugs stepping past him and immediately finds out why as wolf whistles and lude remarks hit her like a wave. She dismisses most of the people by maintaining a smile and asking the bar tender for something to drink, " Your not old enough for a drink." She glares having spent the better part of her teenage years drinking, " I have been drink 4 years now, I said a drink, I didn't ask for your opinion on what I should be doing." She glares at him and he stands his ground. She shakes her head and sits, " Something non illegal then." This is when a brash young man begins to annoy her by sitting down next to her and refusing to leave her alone. "My you are pretty what be your name stranger?" she turns looking at him and smiling coldly " Go away before I decide to dance for you." he chuckles at her "I would like a dance. What kind of dance?" she grins at him, " One so amazing you'll never see another like it." This kind of sarcastic exchange goes on until he puts a hand on her. " Take that hand away before I make it go away." he doesn't listen at all. She stands up paying for her drink. When she turns to leave she finds the door blocked by the bouncer, " Watch out for him lass, he ain't the kind to take no for an answer." with that he lets her pass. She shakes her head irratly, " Men." she says walking back towards home. As she nears the unit she finds that the man has tailed her home, " Nice part of town to die in" she turns her hands clenched, " Yes, now go back to that rat warren or I am going to gouge out your eyes and cut out your voicebox. She realizes it's an empty threat because she stupidly left her weapons at home but she isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. " be a nice girl." the look in his eyes sets her off because it takes her about 5 seconds to clear the gap between them and slam her fist straight into his crotch. he crumbles before her and she kneels on pinning him with her legs and bringing his face up to her, " I did warn you what I'd do right?" she grins at him and he begins to shriek for help so loud that the whole neighboorhood can hear it. When she walks back in her skirt has blood on it and her nose is bleeding not to mention her split lip and eyebrow.

ken drank away until he left for home a man traild him the man wore robes of red and white and the golden eagle held it all togeather the man charged at ken soon after takiling the small man to the ground and punching the back of his head. Ken pushed him of throwing a right jab but being drunk he was to slow the man jumped back pulling a silencd bolt pistel out and started firing of shots at ken, ken having ork dna he shruged it of and takled the man to the ground punching his face in but a fractrix pattern assult laser fired sending 20 lasbolts in 4 seconds ken falls limply to the ground as the other man gets up. "is he dead?" the first man asks the spacemarine aiming the silenced bolt pistole at kens head. "if not." he rakes a shotgun. "he is now." the spacemarine fires a full burst round ilnto kens head shattering his skull as blood and bones flys onto both of there clothing the first man looks in horror but the spacemarine starts to walk away. "lets go the inquisiter wants a report when we get back." the SM says. "I thought heed put up more of a fight right?" the man asks the spacemarine "i dont care jobs done all thats left is his team then that stupid tainted chapter will be long gone.... Damn heritics." the space marine says as a small craft is waiting for them,they walk in and the craft takes off heading for a ship a few planets away. The small eldar ship a man wearing a gasmask flys down and lands at the space port. He steps out and walks to the iron mongers small base.
