Its a kind of Rustoleum spray. Its textured. I used the color "desert Bisque" though there are about 8 different ones. www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=31 You should be able to find it at a hardware store.

I wanted the carapces to look hard and chitinous, almost as thought they were made out of stone. It can be kinda a pain in the *** because you have to cut masks to keep it from getting on other parts of the miniature. Other wise i primed/basecoated with a beige Krylon spray, did the carapaces in the Rustoleum, the bodies in chaos black with a Space wolves Grey dry brush and then varnished them with mahogany wood varnish. I wanted to try a non- traditional method for painting and see how well i could get them to turn out. I think i'll post a few more models in the Painting section...

the eggs are dried parts of some flower my sister had been making into potpuri. I saw them and thought they'd be neat to paint because they're absorbent. Other wise its just green stuff and half an infestation from the stealers box. I primed it, painted a mix of blood red and bleach bone to give it the fleshy color, the varnished with mahogany wood varnish to make it look all slimy and gross.
