Looking for a cheap alternative to army carriers.

I've finished building my eldar, but my normal carrier (a rifle case) won't do. 16 jetbikes, all with rasied stands, plus the rest of the army! Anyone have ideas for a cheap but roomy army carrier?

Have you glued them to their bases?

I have about 10 jetbikes but I dismantle the bases into little pots and then store the jetbikes in a foam box.

I've magnetised the stands on my Dark Eldar jetbikes, makes them a lot easier to pack and carry around. As for carrying them, I have no idea - they really are the most awkward things to transport...

bubble wrap ice cream tubs and cotton wool in a bag should be ok if you limit the amount they can move make sure to wrap the model in bubble wrap

you can go to a army dump and look if the have anny cases left suitible for carying your army.
a friend of mine did that and it works.

LMAO, a rifle case? Don't people look WEIRDLY at you when you carry that thing around in public? XD

Anyways, I suggest you carry around the rest of your army in any large enough container with paper towels as cushioning. As for your jetbikes, just get another box just for them with paper towel cushioning.

No, I didn't mean that. I meant the fact that grave's normal army carrier at the moment is a rifle case.

Rifle cases are good, but I prefer a four pistol case. You can fit larger thing in them like tanks and they're about the same size as a GW transport case. Plus I can find them at Wal-Mart (an American store) for around ten dollars.

I have one GW case for my troops and one four pistol case for my vehicles and large models (and one rifle case for my termagants, but I usually leave that at home).

Go to B&Q and buy some big tool box cases. Make foam trays if necessary with cheap foam from furniture dealers. Works a treat and is cheap as hell.

If you have trouble finding a gun case (or don't fancy carrying one around in public), then consider using an empty tool box from a hardware store. Sourcing the foam insets is the hardest part, however a furniture or similar store might have some spare.

i use the flat tackle boxes for fishing lures and pad them with some paper towles. no casualties yet.

I've been using pipette tip boxes lined with foam for all of my magnetized weapons. Now I'm just looking to find a solid box with the proper dimensions of fitting sabol foam trays

Best case I ever saw was one guy's setup for Flames of War; He had a few wood trays he'd made himself, and then a 40mm Grenade Ammunition Canister as a case, with a strap hooked up to it!

I was leaving to go to my local GW store (in a mall), when I relized I didnt have a case to carry my units in! after looking around, I found a 40mm shell army thing and just put them in there with some foam around them.
once I got to the mall, I walked out with my brother, and slighly struggled with is for its pure metal and can carry 32 cargs.
Suddenly a mall cop stopped me and asked if he could look inside. I got nervous for its a cop (and his hand was near his gun) and studder about what was in it. my brother finnaly said it was models for a game, and the cop still wanted to look inside.
once he saw them, he smiled and apologised. he told me not to use that as a case.

IT WAS SCARY!!!
