WIP warhound titan UPDATED (pic heavy)

well after seeing this www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58676 i was inspired to make my own titan, i was thinking on it and i decided to try make all the joints move on this model
so I've started now using his template (a link is given on the last page or there abouts)

to make the leg joints movable i made a hinge like structure of PVC pipe
here are some pics showing the leg fully down and up

I'm going to add pistons to it but I'm trying to figure out how to get them to move with the joints

I'll be updating this as i go along
and ideas will be appreciated

looks awesome so far.

but why would you want the joints to be movable? So you could walk it around the battlefield? A frozen position would be fine, and that way it would be easier to support the top of it. keep up the work though.

And is that a giant tyranid in the background!!?!?!?!

the titan is most likely going to be a display piece so this means i'll be able to change its pose when i want to, amnd i just want to be able to say i have a posable titan
yeah thats my WIP boittian in the background i have to get some stuff so it will be a while before i can do more on it

the start look realy promesing. and the titan in that topic wow never seen a scrachbuilt titan look that much like the realy thing.

I've almost finnished the second leg but i've run ut of Glue so i wont have any till tomorrow
Hot glue is aawsome i've yet to find something it wont glue together.

Today i made alot of progress. ;D
I finnised the torso and jsut have to make the arms an head.
I made some pistons but the restricted the movment of the joints to much so i wont be haveing any at the moment.

i think i may need to stiffen the joints a little bit

That kinda reminds me of those AT-STs from star wars...
Looks really cool. Can't wait to see it finished.

I now have a problem.
The leg joints aren't stiff enough to support the weight of the torso now I've added the weapons and head

I thought that was going to happen. hmm maybe put sometheing between the articulations. something that makes moving harder.

if you put presurised pistons like those from the lego kits it may stand quite well.. if not, i would make some pins through the joint so it will not move at all..

hmm i like the idea of those pistons (now i need to get some...)
i tried adding soemthing inside the joint to increase the friction but it didnt work
it looks like i will resort to makeing the joins unmovable

why didn't i think of that? they pwn all (or did when i was in grade 5 >.> )

I've given up on moving leg joints for now
I just couldn't get it to work so I've glued the legs into a fixed pose
now only the arms and waist move
The warhound is mostly complete now ;D
I just need to detail it and fix gaps when i get my green stuff (will take a few weeks)





the pistons are lollipop sticks and skewers


I used Lego ball and socket joints in the arms, they mean i can swap put all the available options (though I've only made the mega bolter and plasma blast gun so far)
