How to expertly paint Hive Fleet Kraken

Nice i have about 100 of the old ersion like those, and 16 new ones. those don't look to bad to paint. I just can't get the striping down. I ordered a couple of brushes from the site you linked me, payed like 19 for a few brushes and 25 for shipping lol. i Hope that 3/0 brush will help me paint better stripes. I had a few more questions. On all the painting steps besides flesh wash, do you mix in water on all the paints besides the base coat? What about striping? Do you mix water into both reds? 1 more thing before work, I made my hive tyrant into a Flyrant, I ordered Balrog wings for him, just waiting on GW to get them in. The guys at GW are going to help me greenstuff them on, but i really dont have any clue, as how to paint these things. Have you ever seen any balrog wings painted in this scheme?

Yes I mix something close to water into my paints for all steps of the process....(I used to use water now I use 85% water and 15% Future Floor Finish acrylic floor wax). I've never seen the Balrog or Fell Beast wings painted in kraken colors...if you do it...I'd love to see how it turns out for you.

GW brushes aren't bad, they're just overpriced for what you get. Plus they don't use the standard brush sizes, they go with the small, medium, and large brush sizes.

looks very good indeed. Just a little clean up and you will be set...plus doing the base will make it look really nice. urbanquest: I'm not a fan of GW brushes really, The problem is like yoritomo said...they are over priced. For the money there are much better brushes out there. I do use a couple of GW brushes...just not for detail work (I use the Base coat, Tank, large and small drybrushes). krakenfiend

I get brushes from the walmart art supply aisle. They're about the same quality as the GW brushes, but they cost 3.49 for a whole set.
