Hello All!
New to Tyranids and played one game with this list against a competitive tau list (Commanders and Drones) It performed fairly well but I made some tactical mistakes not holding a deepstrike reserve to counter his deep strike.
++ Battalion Detachment +3CP (Tyranids) [108 PL, 1999pts]
HQ [32 PL, 310pts]
Hive Tyrant Adrenal Glands, Monstrous Scything Talons, Power: Catalyst, Power: Paroxysm, Scythes of Tyran, Two Devourers with Brainleech Worms, Wings
Tyranid Prime Adrenal Glands [Deathspitter Scything Talons, Warlord, Warlord Trait: Monstrous Hunger
+ Troops [47 PL, 789pts] +
20x Genestealer: 20x Rending Claws
30x Hormagaunt
30x Hormagaunt
9x Tyranid Warriors [13 PL, 249pts]
.
Tyranid Warrior x6 Adrenal Glands, Deathspitter, Scything Talons
.
Tyranid Warrior x 3: Adrenal Glands, Barbed Strangler, Scything Talons
+ Elites [90pts] +
3x Venomthrope
++Spearhead Detachment++
+ HQ + [300pts] + 1CP
The Swarmlord Power: Catalyst, Power: Onslaught
+ Heavy Support [24 PL, 510pts] +
Carnifexes Adrenal Glands, Bone Mace, Enhanced Senses, Heavy Venom Cannon, Monstrous Scything Talons, Spine Banks
Trygon: Adrenal Glands, 3x Massive Scything Talons, Toxinspike
Trygon Prime: Adrenal Glands, Biostatic Rattle, 3x Massive Scything Talons, Toxin Sacs
++ Total: [108 PL, 1999pts] ++
Battle forged 7 CP
All Behemoth
Basic game plan is that the Trygon's bring in a unit of Hormies and a unit of stealers with the Tyrant dropping in to help. The Warriors Primes, and Carni guards the backfield. The swarm lord and Venoms are screened by the other Hormagaunt unit who get Swam Commandered forward.
An option would be to have the Trygon bring in the warrior's instead of a Hormagaunt unit, but then I lose the synergy with the Prime.
I need to put more thought into my relic and warlord trait choices any suggestions?
I think that the Swarmlord would benefit from a unit of Tyrnat Guard but I don't really like the models.
Please help me optimize this list!
