Now let me explain how I picture each of my garden bugs, as that is what they are to me.
- rippers are the worms
- genestealers are aphids
- carnifex are ladybugs (keep in mind here old pewter models, not the new ones... those are my stone crushers)
- hormagaunts are grasshoppers
- umm, termigants (this is the first time I get some of these, for 7th and a matching tervigon) are... ants of sorts? Devourers are maybe black ants, spinefists are red ants, um, other stuff?
- hive tyrant?!?!!
So I paint up most of these and then I get back to my hive tyrants, two metal 3rd, one new flyer! What to do? Butterflys, monarchs! Oh, yeah. Fits the scheme, looks cool, I'm set.
So I present to you my painting blog. I'll upload when I can, and even though most of the colors are pretty drab or seemingly mono-tone, I'll still do my best to get good photographs of my army as it gets finished in the paint department.
To start, my monarch, my hive tyrant with wings. A bit washed out in pic, but perhaps you can see the old color head (light brown) contrasting with the newer dark brown body, dark green carapace. That is my overall theme. Still earthy, dark tones to give a little creepy "nightmare" creature feel, and small color changes to each brood entry to fit my original garden variety theme. I hope you enjoy, and I hope I keep this current and updated. And happy 40k-day to me as well hahaha.
****I'll work to get my pics up on a different hosting site and then back here, but this may take a while.
****Keep on painting folks, and share what you can! Just not on photobucket.
Of course there are no weapons shown, magnetized baby! This is a multi-piece model: head, torso, lower legs and base, weapons. All magnetized for movement.
