At least it is a chance to get those models on the table again that have been collecting dust for years and maybe have a little fun.
Agreed^. I have no intention to buy AoS or to add any models to my dwarf army which means no money for GW. This is for a few reasons. GW, because of their past practices (insane prices, poor rules, lack of real errata, new books that mess up armies badly, etc) and almost contempt of their customers (regarding the game at least) in how they do these things I have little desire to buy from GW. IF GW had put in real effort to try to fix broken or underpowered units or wonky rules I would probably have built an ogre army to go along with the dwarf army (that was a few years ago). But their business practices warned me off further Fantasy purchases and so no money for GW when I would have bought lots of ogre units to build an army.
With Fantasy struggling I had hoped the direction GW would take would be to do a major overhaul of Fantasy with 9th (and scaling back some rules or weird aspects to trim the game down a bit would have been welcome) and a serious attempt to balance the game (reign in OP magic or summoning or whatever), open communication with your customers along with lowering prices and I would be willing to give it a go, even if a little gun shy at first (fool me once...). So the AoS route is not the desired route I had hoped for and I may yet sell/give away my dwarf army. As far as I can tell old Fantasy is dead and AoS is all there is so I support those people in my area putting forth effort to try to make it into a decent game (since GW didn't want to put in the effort). It wont be the same game obviously but it might still be enjoyable enough to play regularly.
