Advice about new army (Blood Angels)

Hi Hive!

Tyranids are my first army, but i'm considering a second.

After a relentless swarm of never ending aliens, I wanted to make a more heroic good guy army.

I like the look and fluff of Blood Angels, but gameplay wise, just wondering if it will be different enough from Tyranids? (Both being focussed on assault).

Since where are Tyranids assault? I see us more as a mid-range 18" shooting army.

My blood angel opponents at my LGS seem to try to be assault and then fall to dakkafexes in close combat, so I don't see them as too great in assault either since a 150 point non-assault kitted fex tosses them around. Except a couple of their dreadnoughts which can be beastly.

Where they shine is Scouts are insane. They seem to suck but always do decisive things every game, like ground my flyrants, take that last HP off my dreadnought with a rear shot. Don't underestimate scouts.

The psychic phase is where my opponents overwhelm me. You have librarians of everything... EVERYTHING, even the dreads!

Thanks emoge, TBH, I have very little play experience of the game, so any opinions on the similarity or difference of playing Tyranids to BA is great advice!

Oh, and for 100 points you should ally with that inquisitor dude and stick im in lkike a devastator unit or with someone. He's a beast for a mere 100 points. No clue his name, but he has the two headed bald eagle (which I think is weird...) He's actually good for most imperial armies, he just doesn't fit the theme of my dreadnought only space wolves.

That's Coteaz. And yeah, he's awesome.

Coteaz is brutal with centurion devastators, but that's space marines codex. I played like 2 games against blood angels and all included dante and librarians. Bikes with gravs, death company and drop pods seem like a good choice. Scouts would be my choice for troops too. They are cheaper and have option to infiltrate or outflank.

Also, Furious Charge (and possibly the +1I from their Detachment) make BA CC Scouts really quite impressive.

BAs are really fun to play. They are a lot easier to use than Nids.

Great in assault, but you need to be the one assaulting. Generally fearless all round. They have quick tanks, strong dreadnoughts, quirky characters, lots of customisation. And the psychic powers are good, the primaris is awesome.

They are my second army, the codex is laid out really well and it really shows how terrible of a job GW did with Nids.
