they released a SMALL version of our codex... as in small like the mini rulebook from deathstorm and such...

They did a bunch of them for some event a while ago, for all the Armies that had updated Dexes at the time. The ones that didn't sell out at the event got put up on the webstore, and have gradually been getting pulled as they run out their stock.

Now following the pattern of our codex in the past I go under the assumption that within 3 months we either get a new codex or an updated BRB.

Ever since the Genestealers in the Space hulk and our rushed 5th codex I have zero faith in a lasting book. We get updates and shiny at the worst of times.

They're just mini codex's. It's not anything new. The LGS I used to live near in the Richmond, VA area(in the united states) still has a ton in stock cause they ordered a bunch,

Some LGS' like the one I live near now don't have a single one.

At the rate GW are updating codexes I wouldn't be shocked to see the next Tyranid codex around Christmas / New Year. If the current rumours and predictions pan out as expected we'll have one of the oldest books by then, even if it is barely 2 years old.
