Imperial knight tournament question

My local area is having a small tournament ruling problem. We allow one LOW, but with the new IK codex, they are labeled as LOW. In there FOC all blocks have the LOW symbol in them. And here's the problem, is a IK primary detachment allowed?

By only allowing only one LOW, then no you can't have a army of 3-5 IKs, or use the formations.

I was wondering if anyone else have this problem in there local area? and if there is a ruling saying they are not considered LOW in a primary detachment, where is that rule at???

This is becoming a headache for TOs. My guess is the community will come to a decision rather quickly. GW is releasing new problems faster than tourneys can figure them out. They want more and bigger models in the games and its working.

That's what me and the TO is trying to figure out. Do we allow all of it, do we allow only the primary detachment part, or non of it?? Either way there's going to be a lot of mad players.

You could say, if an army contains 2+ LoW then it can comprise ONLY of LoW.

This way you'll only have true IK lists and not allies.

It really comes down to if you think IK are overpowered specifically or just want to limit the scale of the games.

Remember that there are a lot scarier options in the elites, heavy and HQ slots nowadays. Grav, for instance.

In all seriousness, if you want to go all out running a tournament, set up a unique Detachment type for each army that balances their choices. Build it out of formations with limits, or around the classic CAD, and scale it to the points level of the tournament.

looks like our tournament will allow an Imerial Knight army. but no ally formations...

Where are you? You will generally find that there is a consensus in your wider area. such as ETC or ITC or Nova style.

Ours depends on the tournament. We do something different every month. This month was a required modified CAD so IK, Skittari, and Harlequins weren't even allowed because they didn't fit the required CAD.

Last month was no LOW, so IK weren't allowed.
