Anyone seen the new info on Knights? IK pics

Looks like they're getting a new codex with extra variants and weapon options including Icarus Auto-cannons (TL st7 ap4 heavy 2 with Skyfire/interceptor) and Avenger gatling cannons (st6 ap3 heavy 12 with rending)

Thoughts on how to deal with that anyone?

Pretty much the same way you'd deal with them before. They've got better AA, but it's still not exactly good, and they've still got no Ignores Cover.

Yeah I guess. The problem with the anti air is it makes it much more likely for them to cause a grounding test. It's pretty effective against the harpy/crone statline as well. The gatling gun looks like a monstrous creature killer as well. You would not want a grounded flyrant or Carnifex brood being hit by that.

You take grounding tests at the end of the phase, not when you get shot.

Yeah that's true Giga. However I think they can ground you with interceptor fire from the autocannons (they're hull mounted) and then shoot you in the shooting phase with the gatling gun? Or am I missing something?

Don't stay in reserve then you can't be intercepted. The rending makes no difference at all to us since the gatling is AP 3. It's no different than the Stormlord Baneblade (easier to kill actually). Early rumors were 8 HPs so I actually feel OK about this release. Unless there is more to them that the leaks so far, they are no worse for us than the old versions.

this can happen, but it can happen with anything that has interceptor. don't fly on and leave a valuable unit out in the open in LoS. if you have to leave the board, hop back on in ruins and shrouded.

Each Knight with an Icarus Autocannon has about a 35% chance of putting a Wound on a Flyrant. Then you would have to fail the Grounding Test. If you're in Ruins (or Jinking) with Shrouded, cut that in half. With Crones/Harpies, maintaining good Cover is more important, but if you do, they're still pretty safe.

Strength D ap2 close combat weapons with fling special rule. It is colossal thou so at initiative 1 attacks...

Thanks all. I'm aware that it's nothing particularly new I suppose. The anti-air cannons won't do much to us in cover it's true and they may not see a lot of play as they're not that effective against vehicle flyers either. They'll still hurt a harpy or crone if they catch one out of cover.

Guess I'm just tired with already competitive units getting even more versatility. Feels like an uphill battle sometimes but I guess if I'd have wanted an easy time in 40k I wouldn't have chosen Nids as my main army!

Well, this minigun can be dangerous to tyrants, if enemy has divination. 12 twinlinked shots with AP3 can force Tyrant to jink.

I normally move my flyrantsbfrom cover to cover and if possible close to a Malan so no jinking. But if imposible... It will force Jinks like crazy.

Is there any info about IK arc of fire for his weapons? I guess he follows the rules for walkers so 45 degrees. Autocannon looks like turret mounted, but who knows.
