May choose items from the Biomorphs List

Decided to dust off the nids for 7th. For those who may remember, I ended up not rage quitting. Sorry to anyone I could have offended. 6th edition was brutal though... Anyway.

I Noticed "Wings" are a simple Biomorph from Biomorphs List. A Hive Tyrant can take them. Makes sense, because it says for HT "may choose items from the Biomorphs List" and wings are an option. Sure.

Noticed... that some other MC's say the same. "May take options from the Biomorphs List." To me, WHICH INCLUDES WINGS.

No where does it say specifically that a Trygon, Tyrannofex, etc CANT take wings.

So why no Flygon Primes or more FMC's? Why am I the first to think this? Or am I that confused.

The Biomorph List is the sub-section for Biomorphs on Pg. 93. Wings are included in the Biomorph descriptions on Pg. 67, but not in the List where they're purchased from.

Hive Tyrant - under options may take wings, no joy with the Trygons though. Did have a check in my Dex just to be sure. War gear lists just the 4 bio morphs and wings are listed as an option with cost if available. See HT p94. Shame you can't give a tyranid prime wings

Sorry I still don't understand

Just because it does not specifically list it on the units pages in the back shouldn't mean it can't take it. The Broodlord or other guys can take regeneration, etc without it being specifically listed. They could have done this to save page space. I notice the codexes like to list things just once unless it's a different points cost across different models (like 10 for a mc but 4 for a gaunt.) So in my mind, the HT page is just where it says Wings cost 35pts.

I still don't see where Wings are in a sub-section of their own in the biomorph list. It's just with everything else.

I guess it is a stretch. But would really like to be proved opposite. If it has and I just don't get it, sorry. Try some layman's terms. Haven't played hard since like 4th.

You're not looking at the Biomorph List if you're seeing Wings. Wings aren't in that at all. The Biomorph list that's referring to is on Pg.93, at the bottom left of the Wargear List box.

Carnifex entry page 102

"Any model may take items from the monstrous bio-cannons and biomorphs list" which is found on page 93.

Wings is not a listed option, the only reason tyrants can take them is they specifically are given the option on their entry page on page 94.

EDIT: you're looking at the "biomorph upgrades" page on page 67. That is not the biomorphs list. Wording is specific on this one for that reason. 67 is more the fluffy description of stuff as well as the information as to what rules each item actually grants.

yeah. That carnifex though....the vector strikes alone would be savaging. It'd be like having a devil-flyrant and Hive crone hybrid. Dual skyfire devourers, and a Vector strike that would be sick nasty.

Winged Haruspex would be great too. Anything to just get his froggy butt into cc... but wings on a prime so he could join a unit of shrikes would be great.
