Triple Primes from the Deathstorm box

Picking up Deathstorm left me with a minor dilemma, as I already owned dozens of old-style Warriors and Shrikes on 40mm bases. I like having my Nids look consistent, so I hate mismatched conversions and base sizes. As the new Warriors are a great kit, I figured the best way to put them to use was to make 3 Primes with them all on the new bases to make them stand out. After remembering I bought some Instant Mold a while ago, it was easy to duplicate the shoulder guards, back funnels and tail spikes. It only took a bit of clipping to get them to fit onto the regular bodies. Now I just need to dig out my files and tidy them up a bit.




Now that I have 3 Primes in the same style, I've un-converted the one I made when the 5E codex came out a few years ago turning him back into a regular Warrior, and used the spare melee arms to finish off my last 3 Shrikes. Thanks to this one kit I've rounded out a full ~1850pts of Primes, Warriors and Shrikes, so here's hoping the next codex makes them a bit better (or at least cheaper)

These are great. Do you think the shoulder guards could be tweaked or extended to double as a Shrike model? Not sure how they would fly but then I'm not sure any Tyranid winged creatures would actually be able to fly. Good job its only pretend hey?
