Another Hierodule conversion thread

Seems we're racking up a few of these lately. This is gonna be a slow paced one as I'm waiting on Xmas to see if i get the kits I need. Last night, however, I was struck with an idea for the guns. I'm not a fan of the dual Rupture Cannons that many people seem to use so this is what I came up with. Still need to clean them up a bit, fill in some areas with GS, but you get the idea. The Fleshborer Hive is supposed to be the ammo storage/feed mechanism and I'm torn between leaving them as is, filling in the space between it and the arm so as to make a larger version of the Harpy guns, or extending a GS tube from the lower end back to the body. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.




The plan for the rest is Exocrine body (or as much as it shares with the Haruspex) on T-Fex rear legs. Forward of that point on the Exo body I'm going to extend it further forward to give it the overall length and bulk of the Hierodule, just not sure yet what I'll use.

hey man those look dope! what i would do is leave the gap there but GS a tube from the middle claw of the hives into the body

Well I finally got the Exo and TFex kits in. This is the first time I've had hands on the Exo model and I gotta say, this thing is smaller than I thought. After looking them over, I don't think my original idea will work so it's back to the drawing board. I don't wanna just use the TFex like others seem to favor. IMO the body just tapers too much at the rear and the tail dropping straight down like that irks me.

Could you use the back half of the exo with the front half of the T-fex? Ignore that didn't read the original post properly my bad...

Ok, so it looks like I've figured out what I wanna do here. Well executed, I think it'll turn out better than what I had originally envisioned. That being said, it's gonna be a helluva lot more difficult to pull it off. At the moment, I have zero GS sculpting skills and this is gonna require quite a bit to properly merge the two bodies. Just picture the gaps (more like gaping holes, lol) filled in and, hopefully, well sculpted to match the ribs.

Well, I think this puppy is gonna have to be the first quadrupedal Hierodule. Here's to evolution! I tried positioning the rear legs forward enough on the body to keep the bipedal design but I felt if I did that then the limbs would all seem very crowded. I guess there's a reason FW's model has the scytals almost on top, coming out of the carapace plates, lol. Easiest solution is to use the T-Fex forward legs but I didn't like the idea of those bladed feet on such a massive, heavy creature. Here's what I came up with. It's the foot off the forward Exocrine legs with the front claw replaced by a scytal. Not entirely sure how I'll merge the two, but I'm thinking I'll use a CC arm to make a third leg segment.

Oh, the head. Originally I had thought to try scratch building a TFex like head that's closer in size to the FW Hierodules head but that's so far beyond what I know how to do its not even funny, lol. The other night I cut the forehead spike off a TFex head and attached it to a Tervigon head and am currently leaning towards that, probably on an elongated neck. I'm open to suggestions though.
