*first host devouring dance*
I'm coming back into 40k hopefully after the new year and I've decided to go back to Tyranids my first 40k love (played them back in the noughties when I was a lad) because even though I orginally thought teh new codex was garbage the new 7th edition and realeses have made me change my mind. Also my local gaming group has waaaay too many space marines for my liking
I've currently got the following
2 non flying Hive tyrants (one old oop lead one with a strangle cannon and bone sword + lash) the other is magnetised.
3 Warriors one with venom cannon one with barbed strangler and another wih deathspitter, one also has claws the other talons.
29 hormagaunts
22 termies a few with devourers
10 genestealers
1 Zoan
1 Broodlord
2 Carnifexs (one oop lead screamer killer and I think I've got Old One Eye around) kitted out for close combat
My gaming group in terms of 40k is a bit of mixed bag with mostly fun players but with a few competitive players.
A few space marine players (one plays ultramarines/c.fists and often brings an imperial knight)
Dark angels player one of the power gamers. Bit of a cheater tbh. Moving onto Daemons. Need to be tip top in terms of knowing the rules of 40k AND Tyranids cause I can see him (please do not swear)
Grey Knight player another power gamer but doesn't cheat as far as I'm aware. (another imperial knight user)
Ork player (kid)
Chaos spmarine daemon allies player (kid)
Taudar player who does play competively but an all round nice guy (will tone it down if you ask him nicely) lately he's been using dark eldar allies I think he's got a voidraven.
Got a few questions
The tyranid player in my game group swears by flyrants (which everyone seems to) but at the moment I've only got walkrants. So whats the best loadout for walking tyrants. Ideally I know I'll need tyrant guard.
Whats the best way to take down Imperial Knights apart from tarpitting them with toxin hormaguants?
Was thinking of getting a hierodoule to take down the Knights but I'm not sure which one to get.
