So I was reading some information about the formations. How come they keep mentioning using formations frees up slots like being able to have 3 flyrants in skyblight for example. Do they not take up spots if you take a formation? What about those Warriors? do they not count as 1 of your 2 troop choices?

It is part of your army though.
