Game tomorrow, want to use Malanthrope

So, I have a malanthrope already and for the life of me I can't find any of the special rules of the new malanthrope and stonecrusher. I have a game tomorrow and was wondering if anyone got lucky and wrote down the spoiled rules so I could try them out. Thanks for the help guys.

If you leaf through the first 4 or 5 pages of the locked 29 page bit on IA you can find them.

For me it comes down to three things:
1. I ordered a malanthrope a week ago as I have loved the model. This without knowing the new IA was coming. Yeah me.
2. It is still not a MC.
3. As I don't have any venomthrope, this will be providing that role.

but how does the tail rule work that halves the I and A of your opponent? you can only dish out PE to one unit in synapse range if you kill something right?

Grasping Tail
At the beginning of the Fight sub-phase, before any blows are struck, the Malanthrope may issue a Challenge, even though it does not have the Character type. If this Challenge is accepted, roll a D6. On the result of a 4+, the enemy model nominated to fight the Malanthrope is enveloped in the Tyranid beast's grasping tail and has its Attacks reduced by half (rounding down) and Initiative reduced to 1 for the duration of the Challenge. If an enemy Character uses the Glorious Intervention special rule to replace the model fighting the Malanthrope in a Challenge, then all effects of this rule are negated and the intervening Character suffers no penalties.

PE is all friendly units in Synapse range, inc the Malanthrope itself.

ah man I was hoping for a lot more from the grasping tail... it only effects characters and the Malanthropes need to be in a challenge >__< I was hoping that ability was something that would help charging units through terrain attack at the same time! How many attacks does it have? also wondering... if a brood of 3 Malanthropes issue a challenge does just one of them fight in the challenge or all three?
I wish the Malanthrope had something like Warp blast! just to help it actually kill something so it could actually hand out PE!

No thank you... it is already enough of a target, I would rather it just walks around looking inconspicuous...

We ended up playing a custom game from the imperial fist supplement for the sentinels of terra. He had to hold two obj to win and all of his models had 6+ fnp, stubborn, and iwnd. All my troops come back from board edge.

The malanthrope weathered the combined firepower of 3 tac squads and a squad of sternguard until he died on turn 5. This guy. What a badass. Can't wait to run him again. Game ended turn 6 with him only controlling 1 of 2 obj, so I won.

I hope my rolling is better in the future as I had failed 2 2+ saves on my malanthrope, 3 2+ saves on my Tervigon, and 18 4+ saves on my terms (nightfighting+shroud). I was dumbfounded. Alternatively, his Captain passed all but 1 4+ Invuln, 2 2+ Armor, and made countless 6+ FNP and 2 IWND rolls. He was at 2 wounds locked in combat with my 1 wound Tervigon when the game ended. The tervigon rolled 7 and doubles for spawns first turn and rolled double 1's to wound the Captain twice over 10 round of combat? It was a silly, terrible, fun game. No FMC's, no Centurions, 750 Points. But yeah, that malanthrope. He was the only real target from turn 2-5 when he finally died.

Almost forgot to mention the dakkafex and Prime. The Prime intervened on behalf of the 1 wound Tervigon and then died horribly to the Captain's Relic Blade after he passed every invuln and FNP over 3 rounds. I only got to cast Catalyst once the whole game, and the dakkafex killed maybe 8 tac marines over the course of the game between a HoW and 3 rounds of shooting. I was not overly impressed.

100% correctamundo, but it does give PE for all enemy units from that codex which is nice.
