So looking through the codex, Nids really aren't subtle with their weapons. They have suggestive poses and applications which is quite humorous but all very deadly.

Which weapon would be the worst way to go? Clearly the Exocrine just melts stuff, the Crone molests then barfs on stuff, and the templates all are just swarms of little critters.

My vote goes for Brainleech, as a writhing little worm burrowing to my central nervous system and then my brain is shudderingly disturbing. Losing control of your body trying to fight a battle.. Scary.

It almost makes a Lascannon shot inviting. At least it would be almost instant.

Well, the Haruspex maw doesn't look like a particularly pleasant way to be ingested either. At least it would be pretty quick.

If you read the little fluff box about the Malanthrope (next to Venomthrope in the Codex), it sounds like it gives its victims the full Sarlacc treatment.

Have to agree with asmodas, running from a haruspex and then a tongue reaching out and grabbing you kicking and screaming into its maw.

But in all seriousness, I gotta say it's a tossup between Fleshborers (beetles eating their way into my flesh voraciously just makes my skin crawl a little), devourers, malanthropes, and Lictors. Why Lictors? Because if it doesn't kill you first, you'll feel tendrils piercing your skull to suck out your brain. I imagine those claws on the end of the grasping tongue would kill you before it actually pulls you into its maw, so that seems like it'd be relatively quick.

Getting hit by brainleech worm, with maggots crawling into your nervous system and proceed to eat your brain alive. Lot of pain lot of screaming snd then your dead.

Getting killed by a horde of ripper can be terrifying too...espacially when a crapload of them latch onto you, burrow their mouth into your abdomen, back, face and proceed to eat you away slowly.

Being ripped to shred by any tyranid creature can be a pretty bad way to go too. In a minute, for an astarte probably a few more, you end up an exploded pinata with blood, bones, brain, limps, body parts and intestines all over the place. Then..there's also the screaming and the pain when they get hold of you...

Tyranid weapons are great tools of psychological warfare. Being eaten alive is a fear that is very primal.

Devourer weapons are without a doubt the worst.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the malanthrope, the fluff for that is quite horrific, it poisons its victim, which completely paralyses it, but eats you ALIVE only for you to be slowly digested over the next few days. It says its extremely painful so I can assume you can still feel just cannot move.

My vote goes for fleshborer swarms, dissicator larvae, and/or digestion pool. In reality there are few pain receptors in the humañ brain so I imagine most of the screaming caused by a devourer worm comes from the fear, revulsion, and involuntary screaming due to brain trauma.

But being slowly munched on by chihuahua sized Pirhana-worms? Rippers would be aweful. Or a million needly grubs dessicating your flesh? Or getting plonked headfirst into a vat of stomach acid? BLECH.

My vote goes for the Malanthrope swallowing you whole and digesting you slowly for several days. Atleast with Devourers you die after a few seconds.

Any of the larvae based living weapons like fleshborers or devourers. Also the barbed strangler; the thought of being constricted and ripped to pieces along with several other screaming bodies squashed together by slowly tightening thorny vines... *shudder* I'd hate to be the guy caught in the middle who has to hear his friends' screams of pain as they're pressed against him from all sides before finally being shredded amidst bones and guts himself.

Also, not sure if it counts anymore, but the Parasite of Mortrex and Doom of Malantai both had pretty horrific ways of killing you too. I think anything that limits your agency through sheer pain, panic or madness but leaves you with enough consciousness to recognise what's happening to you typically can be considered the worst. Especially if it's drawn out. There's little dignified in writhing around in agony while screaming for the help you know you'll never get.
