Well since I'm wanting to participate in our next round of painting competition, thought I mine as well start my own thread for my painted stuff. I'll start by pretty much posting everything that's currently finished. I have yet to come up with a name I like for my hive fleet, but I used Behemoth as inspiration as well as what I've seen you other amazing painters put together. Overall just wanted to be a bit more pink/purple w/blue carapace rather than Behemoth's red and black.

Thanks! Yeah hydracast makes some cool models, wish I had bought that one sooner though. Only got to play with model like twice before 6th ed codex came out and made him a relic of times past.

Also if anyone has tips for how to better paint scytals/claws etc I always struggle with those and am never quite happy with how mine turn out.

^Man, I need the exact same thing (scytals/claws advice). Personally I find it nearly impossible to do a good job on any large flat areas because I can never get an even coat, but that's just me. I will say that the Army Painter colors work wonders to alleviate that issue - they're not super thin, but even without adding any water they go on smooth. Maybe try those for your highlight color(s), but I'm not a pro painter so I couldn't say.

Beautiful 'nids though! Very nice color scheme - mine is also red and blue, but reversed (red chitin, blue skin). Looking forward to seeing more!

Oh wow, that Doom and the Mycetic Spore! I didn't know those models existed. I like your stuff. With 2/3 Tervigons, I'm guessing you have a buttload of gaunts to do

monkeychuka yeah those 2 from hydracast, though now that they don't exist he's probably losing a lot of business. Also yeah... I've painted 5 gants and like 12 h-gants. Spend most of my time on MCs, but when I run out of them I have like 90 gants to get through if I don't go insane first.

Well I believe next months painting competition is technically started as its post Jul 14th, but if not, chalk this guy up to 1 more potentially disqualified unit. I just felt like painting something so.. nothing special yet but finally working on Flyrant #2. Primed and somewhat base coated.

Oh yeah and in the unprimed box you can see carnifex from about 2 weeks ago.

Made some good progress last night/this morning, got the rest of base colors on and washed

Thanks guys, you're keeping me motivated to keep painting. Just gotta finish painting a bedroom before can get back to the fun kind of painting. Next up is probably a venomthrope and then going to struggle through some gants.
